Re: So what do the vents in the hood actuallydo?

Engines are waterproofed from the factory, so vents are ok, as long as the intake is covered from excessive water-flow, your good to go The engineers know it rains and that people ash there cars so you don't have to worry haha. Only ever heard of one or two guys ever experiencing hydro-lock. Guy had an extremely low intake filter and hit a few large puddles. Bye bye motor

Actually, all I'm worried about is will the engine get dirty forcing me to clean it all the time. I actually don't like the looks of the SRT 8 hood on the WK2 and prefer the looks of the regular hood.

it looks like an easy swap and i am sure a guy with a regular WK2 would love to swap with you.

those vents will allow VERY little water or dirt into the engine bay. I have the black Ops anti-veno and really the only time they get water in them is when i wash it....then very little gets in. You will be fine bro But if you dont lke the looks if the hood...then someone will def. swap with you.

Re: So what do the vents in the hood actuallydo?

After you guys' last posts, now the thought of trading away the new antivenom hood for a regular WK2 hood makes me like the antivenom hood more. Strange how that works.

Re: So what do the vents in the hood actuallydo?

I also have an Evo, the vent doesn't cause any issues although it is a little hard on the paint on the intake manifold cover but its not a big deal, much better than having a hotter engine bay.

Re: So what do the vents in the hood actuallydo?

^^ Fellow EVO brother.... wouldn't it be nice to have the SRT8 as a tow vehicle for track days! Oh man that would be sweet. Right now I drive to all my events with my race tires in the back seat along with tools, jack, and 15 gallons of 110 leaded in the trunk!

Re: So what do the vents in the hood actuallydo?

^^^ Nice picture! I have never taken my evo to the autocross or track, just 1/4 mile, but I have friends who do and it looks like a lot of fun, although one of my buddies just blew up his motor. Very nice Evo.... IX SE are the best!
