I had them balanced at a local shop who deals in $$$ custom painted wheels and they managed to add a few more cracks/chips and they were being super careful as well. At this point I am about ready to have them stripped and re-powder coated, which is a shame as they aren't even a year old yet. I almost think raw Al with a few layers of a shadow clear or something would be a heck of a lot stronger. Not sure if I got a bad batch or this is just the nature of the coating on these particular wheels. Other than that issue, I still get a lot of positive feedback on them. FWIW, I didn't even bother contacting Velgen as the warranty is pretty clear that chips and finish damage isn't covered.
Has anyone else noticed this? Mine are the matte gunmetal fwiw.
Sorry to hear this happen. Would you like to send me a PM of you contact number or Call the office ?
