I'm surprised there is no consensus on this!

Suntek CXP18 matched extremely well on mine...

Re: What tint for front windows?

Most 20% tints should match up. Sungard is what is on mine and it matches pretty well. Is a hair lighter in the right light. The Viper brand tint, while is a cheaper tint, is darker too. May match better. You probably won't perfectly match because it is film on the back of the glass instead of sandwiched in the glass like the factory.

Re: What tint for front windows?

20% is the concensus. Some say their is 18% that matches better. Most tints will come labeled around 20% (-3%) that is the one that matches.

i'm using 3M Color Stable 20, i don't think it can get any closer to matching.

Re: What tint for front windows?

Just had FormulaOne Pinnacle15 (Ceramic) installed. It is rated at 18%.

It is a perfect match to my eyes. I can see absolutely no difference to the rear in any light or angle.

I have had better luck with the match by going with ceramic tint as it tends to not have as much reflection and therefore matches the factory tinted glass better.

I do not know the brand but had 20% on my previous SRT and not only was it more reflective (metal alloy tint) but to me it was noticeably lighter. It was supposedly a very high end brand but to be honest I believe the place that did them were a bit shady so not so sure.

I would say, go to a highly reputable tint shop, go with a mid to high level 18% - 20% and you should be good to go as far as a match to the darkness. For me the Ceramic is worth the extra money to also match the reflective qualities but I may be a bit more picky than others (or it could have all been in my head too).

I have 35% Llumar and I like it, but I'm not really a fan of dark tint tends to ghetto up the car a bit in my opinion. ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1418931347.323083.jpg

I'd be incredibly surprised, possibly to the point of freaking out, if there was concensus for ANYTHING!!!

I know what you're saying but because the back is dark, I find it looks strange to have 35% up front and darker on all the other windows.

My opinion is the darker the better. I even tint my windshield. Otherwise a non tinted car looks like a people aquarium to me!

I tried to do the 35% up front for legal reason and the hassle of getting inspected. 1 year later I had it replaced. I couldn't take the difference between the front and rear anymore.
