Re: 730n rhr Lockpick install writeup

2012 Jeep SRT8 with Nav MyGig RHR uses the high speed settings for the CHR550 Lockpick.

Default setting when shipped is 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7 down, and 5 and 8 up. This turns on all options for high speed communications in
vehicles with a navigation radio.

I installed the module in an hour and a half, tricky part is finding a place for the extra wires and the actual lockpick itself. I mounted the lockpick in front of the right blower duct and then had room to put the wires behind the head unit. Had to cut a hole in the top of the plastic console compartment top to run the iPod cable through for easy access behind the flip door.

iPhone 4S plays movies and music with ease.

Backup cam is functional at all times in any gear without having to run a wire to the rear cam itself.

The installation instructions say you have to run a separate lead to the backup cam but this is wrong for our rigs.

www.CoastalEtech.com sold the Lockpick, worth spending the extra cash to get a quality product IMO.

Tutorial on how to remove the trim: http://www.wk2jeeps.com/interior/201...moval_001E.pdf

Go slow, you have to remove the center console (shifter) bezel first, then remove the 2 bolts holding the center console compartment on the bottom (under the flip top door by hazard controls north of the shifter) then the radio bezel, then a few more bolts to get the center console compartment out to run the iPod cable).

Pics to come, questions lemme know.

Re: 730n rhr Lockpick install writeup

Made a quick tutorial. Its a pretty easy install but it does take time. Just go slow and be careful, dont rip anything apart or force anything apart. If you try to force it, chances are you missed a screw or forgot to disconnect something!
