Can EVIC display actual gear attained?

I was pretty sure I read somewhere, that the EVIC could be set to display the actual gear that the transmission is in, at all times. e.g. you could actually see the shift progression.

I did a search of the forum, and read through the program section of the manual; cannot find anything. All I have been able to put up there when I select "Gear" on the display, is "D" (Drive). I already know it's in Drive.

Did I just dream this?

What vehicle, year, etc?

On the 2014, ymmv.
By default, if you have your EVIC set to show sport or drive mode, just to the right of the D there is a smaller number that you probably can't see if wearing polaroids.
That is your current gear.
You may be able to spot it easier if you use the paddles to drop a gear, then hold the + paddle down until it goes back to D and then you may be able to see that number changing.

Thanks. Yes, it is a 2014 JGC Ltd. Honestly, I thought I remembered seeing that little gear number one time, but now I don;t see it. I did have polaroids on, but removed them, because I actually find it hard to even read the rest of the hauges with them. on. Even tried to increase displayed brightness, but could not improve it.

I will try your suggestion, re the paddles.

corrected my typo to show it is a 2014

It might be in the settings accessed from the steering wheel...I know you can remove showing P R N D at all times and just show the current gear...might be part of that setting...

Re: Can EVIC display actual gear attained?

It is a setting you can turn on or off. The OP must have it off. Check your settings.
