I've been long wondering if I could Live TV while driving on the front screen. Well with the RAX jailbreak and the Rear entertainment system it is possible. I've been very happy with the option and impressed with its capabilities. I have a RAX bronze jailbreak as well as a Roku 2 box, Sony Xperia with HDMI Out and running Kodi, and a iPad mini jail broken with Kodi on it as well. These are all hooked up to the inputs on the side of the seats and tethered to my iPhone 6. It is also possible to control them all independently and wirelessly with my iPhone with the Kodi remote app and the Roku remote apps. So each of the rear screen can watch a different source as well as the front screen. The live TV is achieved through Kodi and the Sportsdevil or Pheonix apps. But it is possible...and would use a lot of data:

I get live TV on my front screen via AVICH03 hardware and Slingbox app on my iPhone 6. Can watch shows I've recorded on DVR at home, as well as any cable channel.

I'd like to hook up Sony/Kodi box somewhere underneath the seats, as opposed to sides of the seats. Looking for a more permanent installation. I was hoping to connect to the seats wiring harness to tap into the HDMI inputs. I just hope Jeep decided to use off the shelf HDMI cable as opposed to splicing it into their own wiring harness.

Interesting read. May have to try it.

Curious as to what the difference is between AVICH and the RAX harness.
