Speaker Sound Quality in 16 HA?

Hi - I just ordered a 16 High Altitude and opted to not go with the HK speaker upgrade and just wanted to see what everyone thought about the stock Apine speakers. Any comments?

Depends what level of volume you listen at and what type of music you listen to. They're decent. Better than the Sony systems in Fords. It just depends really. It's not bad but it's not exactly the HK either.

Thanks. I was having buyers remorse before even taking delivery! I don't even know what stage the build is in even if I wanted to change my mind. Appreciate the feedback.

You shouldn't regret getting the Alpine unless you're an audiophile. It's very decent for what it is. I don't mind it. But after 3 WK2s with the Alpine, I would be looking for HK in my 4th.. If I decide to go with another Jeep.

Re: Speaker Sound Quality in 16 HA?

I have the stock speakers in my 16 HA and have no issues with them - I listen to mostly rock/metal just as an FYI. I'm not an audio junky or anything but they serve their purpose just fine.

Does the HK system sound better? Sure does. But you have to ask yourself, do you care enough to have it? $2k or whatever the option is for the HK system seems a bit lofty for speakers imo, thus I didn't get the upgrade and have zero remorse over it. I'd rather put that $$ towards something else or just bank it.

Plus if you ever regretted it so much down the line, I'm sure you can DIY upgrade for the stock ones for a fraction of the price.

Re: Speaker Sound Quality in 16 HA?

As mentioned, personal preference. I refused to own this vehicle without HK audio. I love music, and nearly the entire time I'm driving, I'm listening to it - so why not hear the best (factory) audio quality that I can? The sound system is something you use damn near all the time. No reason to skimp on it. Helps resale too, because a lot of people do want it.

But if you're going to listen to crappy SXM (via satellite - internet is great) then don't lose any sleep. If I were you, I'd see about changing it. $2K is nothing on the price of this vehicle. Rather have it now than kick yourself for wishing you did later.
