Anyone know of any other options to get video in motion other than to install the CHR558? I'm looking to just get access to navigation and video controls while driving. Thanks!!

There is apparently a confusion here between the WVICH-03 and the AVICH-03.
Apple can only block certain apps on the WVICH-03 - true because it functions on Wi-Fi mode.
Whereas, the AVICH-03 remains unrestricted for mirroring all apps (including Netflix & Youtube) due to the built-in HDMI converter within it. The AVICH-03 cannot be blocked by Apple.

Yeah, that's the same list I want to do with my iPhone 6. Per post #23 in this thread, looks like it would be best to go with the hardwired AVICH-03 as opposed to the wireless version. And I'm confused on whether or not the AVICH-03 enables VIM on the factory GPS; etc., as opposed to just enabling GPS apps (e.g. Google) to be displayed onscreen while in motion. The instructions for the AVICH-03 state that one press of the "Back" button enables VIM, but it doesn't specifically state that it does so for the factory software. I've also looked into the Lockpick products, but they're pricier and come with a lot of bells and whistles I don't need (extra camera inputs; etc.), so I'll probably go with the AVICH-03. Would love to hear from forum members who have installed and are using this device - anyone??

Just found a couple videos of the Crux Interface in action. The unit they're using is the wireless version. There's a video that shows android and then there's one for Apple. I believe the wired version of the Crux would have the same capabilities. After watching these videos, I think I've found exactly what I'm looking for.

I received and installed the AVICH-03 today. It does not allow control of the factory nav unit (i.e.; typing in addresses) while in motion - you have to press the Back button underneath the screen in order to activate the composite input for the AVICH-03, and once you do that you can't see the factory nav (or any other factory screen) until you press the Back button again to exit that input. And, the AVICH-03 does not appear as a selectable input on the Media screen either. Which leads me to my other gripe - the composite (RCA plugs) input. It's beyond me why they didn't build in an HDMI input into one of the two boxes you have to stuff behind your factory radio. Now for the positives: It does work well and as designed, and (after purchasing a separate Apple HDMI converter for $43.00 from Amazon Amazon.com : Lightning Digital AV Adapter : MP3 Players & Accessories) allows full mirroring of whatever is on your iPhone's (or Android's) screen while moving. This is really all I wanted, as I can control the factory nav via voice pretty well while driving. Plus, I now have the option of casting Google Maps off my iPhone onto the big screen and controlling it via voice input or typing on the iPhone while moving. Slingbox woks well, also; so now I have live TV on the big screen in my Jeep! With the wired version, you can stream video off any app on your iPhone to the factory screen - I've not found one that was blocked, unlike with the Crux wireless system similar to this one.

In summary, there are probably better units out there - but I believe this is one of the cheaper options to accomplish what I want, so I'm satisfied with it.

Glad it worked out for you. I'm also going to get the 03 for the mirroring and sling box live tv. Just waiting on my installer to get back to me. Now all we need from you is some videos of the unit in action. By the way how much did you buy the 03 for and where?

I bought it off eBay for $319.00 from a seller with high ratings and free shipping. It was around that same price everywhere, but most other places charged shipping. You can easily install this yourself - just pull the trim piece off around the display screen; remove one connector plug at bottom of the trim piece and four bolts that secure the radio. Then it's plug & play - no soldering or splicing.

No; I didn't set dip switch 1 to On - only no. 4, per the instructions that came with the AVICH-03 (and which made no mention of dip switch 1). What leads you to believe that no. 1 will have any effect?

So I talked to a tech at Crux today - he said the only way to activate VIM on the '14 GC with their AVICH-03 unit is to install a single-pole toggle switch on the green wire on the wiring harness. When I pointed out that all their literature states "Built-in VIM, accessible from SWC", and nowhere in the installation sheet does it state you have to install a toggle switch for VIM, he was at a loss - said he'd have their literature dept. look at it. I suggested they just re-write the installation instructions for the '14-up GC. Guess I'll hunt down a toggle switch, install that, and see if that gives me VIM on the factory nav system. I'll post an update once I figure that out.

Well, I wired up a toggle switch as suggested by the Crux tech; does exactly the same thing as pressing the Back button - just switches to the AVICH-03 input. Had no effect on inputting nav addresses in motion; etc. So, while I had everything apart again to remove the toggle switch I set dipswitch 1 to "On", along with switch 4 - and voila, now I can input addresses while in motion! NRsource19 wins the prize!! I called Crux and told them what a mess they have with instructions for their AVICH-03; the guy I spoke to (a different one from the first time) seemed concerned and said they'd re-write the instructions immediately. In the end, I'm pleased to have not only a working bypass of the factory nav; etc. while in motion, but to have capability of casting anything on my iPhone screen to the big screen in the Jeep.
