The tires were junk from the track day and the Jeep is a test truck.
So you can relax. It was just some guys f'in around after a long day at the track. A great way to send off some bald tires.

So, we shouldn't do this on ours (even if we can figure out how to disable power to the front)? I mean it hurts the drivetrain that much?
I would think DRIFTING would hurt the drivetrain (sideways wheel hop, etc) but not a burnout, really?? I mean sure if you screw it up and stall then go and stuff like that, but not what I've seen here I wouldn't think... But yeah, it is not his PERSONAL car so he didn't really care and this was all a marketing/publicity stunt anyways I'm certain..
Rumour is that if you turn off ESP on the new SRT8 WK2 and then hold it, it sends 98% of power to the rear differential. That's just a common comment I've seen on a few auto blogs though in which this vid was reposted.
