Re: Dipped and lowered

I ended up using 3 gallons of black base and 2 gallons of the clear matte for the color pearl layers. I think I could probably have done it with 2 gallons base and 2 gallons for the color coat and been fine. When I sprayed the base coat I was also spraying the wheels so I used a little bit extra product spraying them. Three gallons would probably be good if you thought you would come back and change the color by adding coats int he future.

Re: Dipped and lowered

Looks good man. You did really well for your frist time. My old roommate did his bmw 330ci in matte black and it came out crappy. especially when it got dirty. I love the color. and is it just me or does it seem the driver side tires go one direction and the passenger side tires go 2 different directions. Shouldn't they all be going the same way?

Re: Dipped and lowered

Thanks it turned out fairly well, some of the trim and a few spots around the front bumper will pulling up when I was removing the masking. Plan on redoing it in a month or two. Probably do the trim in matte black and then go back and try a different color possibly. Never noticed the tires, I'll have to check when I swap my summer tires back on.

Re: Dipped and lowered

I've had no issues at all with the handles, it's been right around a year and have had no wear or peeling whatsoever on the handles, or any where else for that matter. Was actually gearing up for a new color in the next month or so. I didn't do anything special when spraying just made sure I sprayed even coats when I sprayed the sides.
