I was thinking the same thing before going with black. What color is your Jeep? If black, here's some food for thought. I walked into the powdercoat shop with the intention of selecting either matte dark gray/gun metal or matte black. The people at the shop had a good eye and were very good with color matching to the vehicle. Here is what they told me.
If going matte black on a black vehicle, the wheels will always look dirty against the gloss black body. Also, a matte finish will collect brake dust much worse than gloss. We all know how much brake dust we create. Gloss is also more durable and easier to clean.
If going matte dark gray, it will look like someone missed on trying to color match black. They said that if going gray, a lighter color works best to have some contrast.
That being said, they convinced me that gloss black would look best against the gloss black body. In my opinion, I agree with them now. It also helps showcase our huge brakes. They stand out more behind a dark wheel, I have noticed.
