Thanks for the compliments fellas!

rawZ06: I would get the windows tinted, but I am soon to move to another country for a few years, and tint is NOT allowed on the front windows. Hell, I even have to get a waiver for the factory tint. If I get too crazy with modifications, they could hold the vehicle and not release it from customs...
Funny you mention the mirrors. I had a shop wrap one of them in gloss black vinyl, and while it didn't look bad, it also didn't impress me that much, so I had it removed.

Understandable, I guess that's why wrap is great, You didn't like it so you peeled it right off

Re: Mike's, I can't help but copy Scottina06 build thread..:-)

Been a while, and although not really an update, here is the Jeep (June 18th) getting buckled down for her long voyage across the Atlantic, to her new (temporary home) place in Austria.

I am hoping to get her back in my hands in the next 5 weeks or so.

Also hoping that there are no added scratches or dings left by the shipping companies...:-0

Oh man safe travels. I'd be nervous for my Jeep if that were me.

Re: Mike's, I can't help but copy Scottina06 build thread..:-)

^^^ Thanks WIL!

I'm just hoping all my custom pieces are still where I left them. Some people have a few horror stories about things coming up missing once their vehicles have been delivered.

But I have both pictures and videos documenting all of my additions, so if anything isn't the way I left it, heads will roll...

On a side note, I was just killing time down in the city center today (Vienna) and to my surprise, what do I see? A black 2012/13 Jeep SRT driving by. I didn't have enough time to grab my phone out for a picture, but at least I know of another owner lurking in this city.

Part of me is kinda sad though. I was hoping to be the only one with a Jeep SRT. Oh well.

Mike

Am thinking bout coming out next summer with Red rings and some new rims.. Rings look killer should have went with my idea when I first got this Jeep in 2013.. But went with the norm which was blacking them.. I've only seen 2 other Redlines in the NYC area. So that makes me happy.. Lol

Well, 48 long days later she finally decides to show up. I guess her Atlantic cruise and cross country European tour was enjoyable, but I am one happy owner again!!!

Not a single new scratch or ding on her, and she is relatively clean. Not to my standards, but also not covered in inches of dirt, so all in all I'm happy.

Here she sits in her new parking spot.

Now I need to start terrorizing these streets.

Thanks for showing off your ride. While the camo is not something I would do, it certainly looks good and is original. I'm more of a solid color person. I know, boring!

I was wondering how you got the BT overflow cap to sit solid? It is the only piece I am having trouble with right now as it does not fit snug. I used an o-ring to get it to fit snug, but when I went to remove the cap for a refill, the o-ring almost landed inside the tank so I just put the stock yellow cap back on for now.

As far as the oil cap, I used some clear silicone adhesive to make sure it stayed on. Oddly enough, the last time I had the oil change the cap went missing and then the very next time I was at the dealer getting my steering looked at, the power steering cap went missing. Took a few weeks, but the dealership made good on replacing both pieces. After all, I had pictures showing it installed right before it went missing and again right after.

Keep up the good work. I'm enjoying the pics!

Re: Mike's, I can't help but copy Scottina06 build thread..:-)

Thanks for the words Hoozyerdaddy.

I felt the solid colors (as far as engine covers) were already done too many times for me to be satisfied with the results, so I opted for something else that had always been on my mind. I'll admit that I had my doubts, but once I saw the final results, I knew it was the perfect choice for me. I do know it's not for everyone, but that's what makes the car hobby so wonderful. Always nice to see what ideas the next person comes up with.

As far as BT pieces...I love their stuff! The quality, the customer service, their professionalism, all of it adds up to a company I'll always go back to if I need Billet goodies. That being said; I do wish that the process for securing the under-hood pieces were a bit more robust. Something like larger set screws, or hell, even direct replacements (with threading). I still check my engine after every drive to make sure all items are present and accounted for.

Overflow cap: I swapped out the provided set screw with another larger one I already had. It allowed the screw to bite in further on the tank for a better/more secure fit. Although it does still turn if you twisted it with your hand.

Oil cap: I installed the BT cover over the stock oil cap and ran a drill bit through the hole. Again, with a larger set screw I was able to get the BT cover to sit firmly in place.

These steps worked for me, but again, I still check after every drive.

Hope this helps.

Mike
