They add more light, but it isn't needed, trust me. I have had HID fogs in my car and the extra light output was not necessary from the factory.

Chrysler/Jeep has gone to GREAT lengths to keep any unmasked images from leaking out ahead of the reveal. They were able to do this with the new Charger SRT8, and so far, it appears they may succeed in doing the same with the new Jeep.
