Ok guys/girls, thought I would finally say hello after all this time to celebrate the completion of what has been a long and arduous process to get me in to what is one hell of a vehicle.

It all started way back in early 2015, when I fell for the GC SRT. Absolutely infatuated with it. Couldn't imagine wanting another car when I was ready to upgrade. This, coming from someone who had always had Holden / HSV V8 sedans and would never buy anything else and certainly wouldn't have considered an SUV. However needed something more suitable for a family. Decided in aug to get one. Had a really great price from a dealer, but had to fly out to work the following day so was going to pull the trigger on it soon as I got back 2 weeks later. Flew to work, was told the entire workforce would be taking sizable pay cuts (most were in the region of 16-30k)..... Oh dear, better hold off *sigh*

Fast forward to June of 2016, went to order an SRT Night, all sold out. Damn, oh well indications are MY17 due in a few months might as well wait. Then it was delayed, then delayed, then delayed again. Finally released them last month. And even though I had been waiting over 18 months to get my baby, that 2 weeks from signing on the dotted line to hitting to starter button for the first time was nothing short of pure agony......

So here she is, will take better photos eventually.... If I can be bothered getting out of the driver seat. These are just what I took with my phone on the night, and next day.

The velvet red is just WOW. I ordered one colour yet ended up with a car that has about 4 colours depending on light. Glad I got it, the my15s I wanted would have been maximum steel., Another colour with many subtleties.

The noise, OMG the noise. When I rocked up at the parents house with it the old girl thought it was my Dad, who drives an AMG S63 coupe, high praise indeed.

Anyways, just thought I would finally say hello now i am an official member of the converted now.

It is a nice touch, does an excellent job of building the anticipation. When I have to walk past it to go do the preliminaries and still haven't actually laid eyes on it and I am like, just show me my car already.... but it is also to protect it. After they polish it and get all shiny it stops other customers from putting their fingerprints all over before the reveal.

You can see the black silk atop a fiat 500x waiting for delivery just behind mine in the pictures.

Man your story sounds a lot like my endeavor to acquire the Jeep GC SRT. I was able to get the 2016 in velvet red also and get many accolades on the paint. This is my first Jeep and am delighted with the choice. Congrats on your acquisition.
