Besides buying the PCM and tune there is a lot more going on behind the scenes, hence their price. The PCM needs to be setup with other stuff before flashing the b&g tune. At least that's my understanding after reading on challengertalk and talking with Red Baron.

That would make sense. And yikees, I had never heard of that coming up. Did you ever take it in for PCM/TCM flash? Any TSB for that? Wonder how many experienced that phenomenon, but even at stock power levels fourth to second downshifts isnt right it seems like. Was that known to be the torque management? I mean if the PCM flash/swap solves it then thats great, cause thats clearly more of the PCM/TCMs fault than the trans itself.

Well I don't know many people that go into a 90 degree corner at WOT and then make another WOT push out of the corner repeatedly. If you drive your vehicle hard it will drop from fourth to second. That was also with a BB valve body.

The torque management stops the computer from pulling fuel while shifting.

Chad...I dont think your situation with losing your tranny while tracking your Jeep has anything to do with this situation.

Mongoose was concerned with torque management being reduced and losing his trans and I am saying you can destroy your trans being pretty much stock. Whether that is from torque management or other things, who knows but it happened to a relatively stock vehicle.

Re: 2012 jEEP srt8 Flashed ECU WOW!!

Got it installed and here is my impression.
It is close to 100 degrees today here in Texas. I took the Jeep out prior to ECU swap and did multiple 0-60 launches per EVIC and the best I could get was 5.5. Best ever on this Jeep per EVIC was 4.5 but it was in the 30's then. Anyway after ECU swap I did several more 0-60 pulls and was down to 5.2 seconds. Now this was on the same stretch of road and only a few minutes after running it with stock ECU so there is definitely a performance gain off the bottom. Now I am not getting rubber hitting second but it definitely feels snappier and shifts better. It feels considerably better from 50-90. To me there is more of a difference on the top end but it is really hard to get a great read on the bottom end in this heat.

Is it worth the money? To me it is. I have been waiting since the day I got it modify it. Will post more after further impressions.

Re: 2012 jEEP srt8 Flashed ECU WOW!!

Delta Victor, Yeah the 3 digit heat will kill the Hemi's performance, you will see more improvments once you put some miles on it, also once the heat drops it will get better also, nice to see the EVIC a/b comparision betweeb the 2 in that heat also shows it is putting down more power..

BTW, Install could not be easier. 3 bolts and 2 clips, done in less than 5 minutes. I am keeping the old ECU and a 5/16 wrench in the car in the event that I have to go to the dealer.

I would do the same. Always keep the stocker and wrench in the Jeep.

Now go bang out some WOT runs one after another for a tranny reliability test
