The bottom line is that the calibration makes the vehicle drive and perform better. If you want a ECO/MDS Friendly gas saving grocery getter leave it stock. I would have to say, these guy's that have installed and are seeing improvments on there EVIC doing back to back testing in 100 degree heat, and are seeing good time drops, I would love to see the results when the temps get cooler..How about a Cash Payout for the first 2012 SRT8 Jeep to break the 4.0 - 0-60 mark with the performance tune.
While I agree completely with the intent of the programming but to dismiss wanting to know the effect on fuel economy as desiring a fuel friendly grocery getter is a bit of an insult. No one here bought their SRT8 expecting stellar fuel economy but it's perfectly understandable that someone would want to know the ENTIRE effect the programming has. It doesn't make me less of an enthusiast to what to know what I can expect for fuel economy.

People may be pleasantly surprised, I've had performance tunes improve MPG for steady state cruising and it would be a great selling point to be able to point to that.

Re: 2012 jEEP srt8 Flashed ECU WOW!!

Sorry did not mean to insult anyone, just get frustrated sometimes when everyone only cares about a Dyno Queen, coming from the calibration world within Chrysler, if all I did was worry about a WOT run, it wouldn't take months/hundreds of hours and let alone the man power to complete a single calibration. Most people have no idea about the benifits of a modified calibration and the driveabilty improvments.. And yes Mileage should be better because of the fuel curve being leaned out for better A/F at WOT, so with MDS/ECO mode being turned off and the improvemnt in A/F mileage should not be greatly effected..

+1

I understand your frustration, the fixation on Dyno's is almost comical and I can see how that frustration bleeds over to concerns over MPG. I'm not concerned, just interested. Performance is about making the motor as efficient as possible. Done right, a performance calibration should improve performance, driveability AND efficiency

MJW930, Back on the mileage, with the remap of the ecu fuel/timing/etc,, You will not be in the throttle as hard as you would prevoius the tune, which again will help with MPG, Also the cold start fuel curve is leaned out which will also help..But again maybe one of the current fourm members running the tuned PCM can do a mileage check to verify +/- numbers over stock..

Re: 2012 jEEP srt8 Flashed ECU WOW!!

Id also like to know what sort of effect the tune has on MPG. Im used to around 14MPG city and 18MPG highway... Try and let us know if possible. Im just curious if its making that much of a difference.

Got anything for a 2012 300 S 5.7?

Also How many perimeters do you have for the 2012 Jeeps adjustability?

Not sure if remember my call to you about 4 mo. ago telling you about my build. I also have a 2012 300 SRT coming in now that needs some help for a High HP build.

Here's another 5.7 WK2 owner interested in a tune. A dedicated thread should be started in our forum - interest will be high.

Re: 2012 jEEP srt8 Flashed ECU WOW!!

To echo the sentiments of 2006Snake, I can tell you from playing around with a few older Hemis (especially the 6.1) that most of the improvements from stock to a flashed PCM come not from adding timing, etc etc, but rather turning off various TM bits,OL delays, MDS/EGR etc etc etc. There is only so much fuel and timing you can add to a calibration.

Those who insist on "dyno proof" are likely going to be disappointed, regardless of who the calibrator is or what they are calibrating with. In the war for more HP out of the box, the engineers from the factories for various manufacturers are leaving less and less on the table as far as fuel and spark, but more in the area of TM/emissions-related features.

I'm very interested in the results of this thread, alot of my customers with ported TBs have been looking for tunes in a bad way.

Re: 2012 jEEP srt8 Flashed ECU WOW!!

I've had my new PCM in with 180 degree T-Stat for 1 day now. I LOVE IT! I would definitely recommend it. It runs like it did when it was 20-30 degrees out but better!

Here are my 1st trys 0-60 and 1/4 mile I'm sure they will only get better. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to launch with the new tune!

As for MPG it says 12.2 vs my 12.5 that i was getting. But its only been a day. I will let you know what it says in 2-3 weeks. Oh yeah, I drive the crap out of my Jeep!!!
