Re: diablo tune reviews...

Just updated my trinity today and loaded the 91 tune in, part throttle feels really good, raised shift points are good, was nice to drive around town all day with how the pedal feels now. Way better than stock I hated the lag in the pedal and now thats gone. The tranny likes to hold higher gears and not downshift like my '08 did unless you put the pedal to the floor, but nothing Johan cant fix in a toon. I havent done to much WOT stuff or logged anything yet but it does feel better than the older wk1 canned tunes. I am happy with it since I had a trinity already so it has not cost me anything, my $ is on the cmr tunes though. It is worth it in the long run so it is definately not a waste of money. Would like to get rid of some more torque management between shifts and get it to launch harder. For a canned tune though I think its good and like I said better than the wk1 tunes. I did notice that the MDS kicked on more around town, im guessing has to do with the pedal being more rersponsive. You can turn it off but it doesnt bother me so I left it on. Its a good improvement over stock and this Jeep seemed to respond well to the canned tune as where my '08 did not. It doesnt feel like there is to much hp difference, I think DS saw less than 10, but having everything be not so restricting helped a lot as the shifts are more solid

I would say 1-2/10ths 0-60 and 2-3/10's in the 1/4 at the most

Re: diablo tune reviews...

I'm really going to have to see some good numbers for me to give up my B&G tune. 4.2 0-60
and 12.4 at 107 this morning.

Plus I got this email the other day

Arrington Performance and B&G Chrysler join forces.

I really want I get a diablo tune but I don't want my dealership to see that I have been messing with the car. Is there anything I can do so they can't see that the vehicle has been tuned? Separate PCM maybe?

My guess would be a no, even with a PCM swap. Tuning the Jeep shouldn't void the warranty. Just flash back to stock before going in for service. If they don't have a reason to suspect a toon caused an issue I'm sure they won't look into it. Just build a good working relationship with your dealer and they'll take care of you. Running a canned tune is safe. Now if you go and adjust parameters you don't know how to adjust properly and mess something up, then man up and pay for your mistake. A properly tuned Jeep weather canned or CMR should be problem free. Just my two cents.

I'm not to familiar with tuning so I wouldn't adjust parameters myself. I just wasn't sure if they start blaming everything on the tune if I started having issues. I've been having transmission problems for the past month and I don't want to get the tune and then have them say "oh it's the tunes fault and you need a new trans". If I knew that I was the one who caused the problem I would admit it and pay for it. I'm not looking to scam Chrysler into doing warranty work when it was really my fault. But thanks for help

Sounds like the transmission issue is well documented prior to a tune install. Maybe if the transmission issue can't be resolved then try the tune and see if it improves it any. What kind of issues are you having.

If you go in for warranty work, say non-related to the power train, a tune would never void the warranty work. Now, if its something that the tune could of possibly caused and can be proved, then yes it could be voided. But the tunes are very safe. Again, build a good working relationship with the service department and your dealer, or find a dealer that is more mod friendly.
