as we all know diablo tune has been released and most of us either ordering or installed it all ready.
got the trinity and installed the tune with bwoody intake and a borla ATAK. drove it for about an hour and i like it the car seems responsive ...but i expected more. saw a couple of videos about disabling the traction. ok i tried it the jeep became a rear wheel drive and its going side ways(its not four wheel spinning).
anyway its just an hour of driving so ill see what can it do tonight.
just looked at somemore stuff in my log and you can see the pcm move the throttle blade position and the pedal position even with my foot to the floor. has to be some kind of torque management or traction control
Yeah, not much support with a 2012 either. Apparently I'm the only one with Jeep that got a corrupt program and they don't have a fix for it. Even though they seem to have fixed the same problem on the 300's.
OK guys just received my third tune from Johan ill give it a try and then i will tell you all about it and how my car respond to it, i didnt write about till now cuz there was a lil bit here and there about the tune but i will tell you that the car is different in many ways.
So what's the verdict? Are you guys happy with the DS? Is it delivering the gains you expected? It's on my short list for my Overland but I'm looking to you guys for feedback (even though I know results will be different)
Okay, finally got the Trinity in yesterday and loaded up the 93 tune option last night. First initial impressions are good. I'm downstate in NY on long island so I really tested it out in traffic this morning getting in and around people. The car feels like it's running smoother, not idling as rough, the shifts feel alot quicker at the higher RPM levels as does the car also feels like it's pulling harder at the higher RPM levels. I don't feel the lag I was feeling between 1st and 2nd shifts. The throttle response does feel more responsive as well. I haven't adjusted any of the other parameters since I'm kind of new at this. I'll go out this weekend to actually test some 0-60 numbers, etc just for comparison (my usual 0-60 numbers are between 4.7 and 4.9 seconds - hopefully I can get this down a little bit).
A curious question about the Trinity is what gauges do you guys usually monitor while driving. I was staring at the spark/retard gauge this morning and did notice on the top right, that under full throttle it would retard spark between .5 and 1 at higher RPM levels - the bottom retard guage always stayed at zero. Is that supposed to be correct or within the tolerance zone?
Many thanks goes out to Johan (diablotoona) for his amazing work and almost immediate response .... some say that he even tune while his sleeping !!!
The jeep is more responsive especially in down shifts, up shifts. you could feel that it pulls much harder at hight rpm's. No MDS No fuel cut at hight rpm's its kinda the jeep is giving all he got with what he got (Bwoody CAI , Borla ATAK )..
I was stuck with 4.7 for a while, last night i did a 4.4. a cool breeze with a good tune could do magic to hemi's they don't like heat.
Restored the original tune back, maintenance time for the ride could not stand it. its like its too lazy for me now.
all that said the Johan tune is a must but there is a little bog some times when your cruising in second then steeping on it and it down shifts to first.
cant stop thinking about headers and what the gain out of it. did any one instaled headrs ? who's offering with vid and a dyno (not on paper)??
Is the trinity the only tuner working right now? Or is there something cheaper? The predator maybe? I don't really care about the fancy display and all that. I'd rather not have anything mounted on my windshield.
I say not worth it yet but that is just me seems the tuning that it does unlock just is not worth It.
I haven't seen a single tuned Jeep that just made me say WOW!!!
I actually had a customer spend 15K for 95HP he was so pissed he traded his Jeep in. The Shop told him it was tuned so with that said a built motor and 15K later don't take a rocket scientist to figure out tuning just is not their.
Lets not forget the FI build that runs a tad better than a Non-FI build 3.6 0-60 vs a stock 3.8 0-60. IDK but IMO it's just not time yet.
On a side note I'll sell ya one if you really want one tho along with a supercharger and fuel system LOL.
No Seriously Don't fall for it yet It's just not time plenty of guinea pigs let em have at it for the braggin' rights of the first to throw their money away. I have a build that is on hold till We se something I will not direct my customer into throwing money at money that's bad business.
Don't get me wrong I'm sure if you have a Thermostat exhaust and some other minor bolt on's it could benifit I wouldn't do anything more than that at this point tho' FI Supercharger,Turbo built motor no wayy.
