Don't worry Jim we will get your times down. I wouldn't be a good friend if I let you sit in the 8.2's when I'm shooting for 7.9's....

Thanks and i no with a few tricks here and there we can get it into the 8.10s but with summer coming we both may have to wait till nov to feb to get that good DA. As far as you getting into the 7.90s it will be easy because you get to change the tune and with a few tricks i think we can.

Re: 1/4 Mile times

Only restriction I put on myself is I want to do it on my street tune and pump gas with a cai and full weight, well minus spare. I know I can get there on a race tune but want a 12.5 Jeep around town. Yeah I hear ya its starting to get hot.

Re: 1/4 Mile times

IMO i think you might get in the 8.0s but i think even with the street tune and unleaded vp109 with a 50/50 mix you can get into the 7.90s. I dont think you need a race tune as i did a 7.95 on a street dyno tune with 93 gas with a DA of +121 ft on my 07. You got to the 8.0s in your 08 and all you needed was the race gas and you would of been in the 7.90s. Heres my 1st pass with vp109 on a 50/50 mix with 91 gas and my street dyno tune on 91 gas.

DA..............689 FT
60'..............1.734
330'.............5.144
1/8 MILE.....8.015
MPH...........85.37

Re: 1/4 Mile times

Only time will tell. If I can get my 08 to go from 8.20 to 8.07 working Johans tune hopefully I can knock the same amount off my 12 and go from an 8.13 to be at an 8.00 I think it's got it. I may be pushing it but with going 8.13 on a canned tune I'm pretty shocked, I wanted it but didn't think it could happen. So it's making me think this 6.4 has it, just got to find it .....

I ran the DA last night at the track and here is the DA at the times we would run.
5pm..........1706 ft water grains 60
6:30pm......1091 ft water grains 55
8pm..........1060 ft water grains 60
9:30pm.......604 ft water grains 61
Not to bad.

Re: 1/4 Mile times

I have a 2014 white SRT on order - not sure when it will arrive, but here's to hoping I see it in a month or so...

When it comes in, and after some break-in miles, I'm off to Toronto Motorsport Park to get some stock baseline runs in. Our track often sits at or just below sea level (depending on weather), so it should be a very good indication of how fast these jeeps can go.

FYI - my 2011 CTS-V went 12.3 @ 119mph with a 2.0 60ft on this track (I know! terrible short time, but it's a manual with street tires) and a buddy in his 2010 automatic V went 11.69 @ 122mph with a 1.8 short time (he's stock with CAI). So our track is fast and sticky

Re: 1/4 Mile times

The guys posting 12.5ish times are sketch at best. Sounds like you ran yours down hill. I'm running Henn CAI, Fastman TB, and Diablosport in 65-70 deg weather and 13.1ish with 0-60 @ 4.9 is average after several runs. Funny how you gain .5 sec better than everyone else running the same mods + exhaust...

Re: 1/4 Mile times

eweezy - i can absolutely vouch for the guys doing 12.5-7 is. i have ran on cold days numerous 12.7's. and my personal best 0-60 is 4.4 sec. the ground is dead flat. I have also ran the truck at the track on numerous with times as fast as 12.8 to 13.8. the only thing that i can contribute to the highly variable times is HEAT. i went a couples weeks in nj. 68 deg and first run off the street i did 13.8 and engine temp was 210 with a trans temp of 140. i let the truck sit for 2 hours with fans. second run the truck was 120 degrees and ran 12.9. both times i left from idle in track mode, auto shifting. only variable was heat.
i also run with Hen CAI, Fastman TB except no tune.
