Amazing sound from the full catback versus the axelback options. Those of you that have the rear section and tips painted black, are those ceramic coated? Anyone ordering them like that all inclusive?

Thanks guys.

Yes, from Marylandspeed...scored my Borla ATAK Cat-back with the axle-back portion semi-gloss ceramic coated and the aFe Momentum GT Pro 5R CAI for $1750...free ship,no tax....that was $1350 for the Cat-back (and coating) and the CAI for $400.....they r always dealing in some way so should b repeatable...btw the semi-gloss is their normal but they have a gloss if u want shiny....the semi-gloss is totally misnamed...it is a satin finish to me and anyone who has seen it and it's perfect....it does not clash with my shiny black bumper and it does not water spot.

U will luv it! U ever see a dog look at something he does not understand and he turns his head to about 2 o'clock? Everytime I remote start at the right moment human heads do the same thing.

Oh, yeah, btw I (more like my Borla)😎, was the talk of the 3/8mi oval track I was at Saturday when I was toying in a fast way 😙 with various other street vehicles in 1 and 2 lap drags...gotta 3ft trophy for my championship driving skills 🏁....gotta admit sounded great thundering around a small oval...$10 trackday for a few hours every Weds....cheap practice 👌

Haha! That's good to know. I'm the same way. I keep listening to it over and over and think it is a very deep, rich sound in line with the favorited GT Haus. I didn't want the cutouts though so between that and the price, this makes sense to me.

I need to find a place like that in Nashville. That sounds like a lot of fun to run on for a day.

Would the 2015 cat back exhaust work on a MY14?

Yes it will. That is the same thing I did with mine. The MDS will kick in and becoming annoying, but you can always shift to sport and eliminate that altogether.

Scotty - does it kick it more often than with the stock exhaust? I can handle the MDS if it kicks in the same amount as stock. Don't want additional MDS moments

What would the difference in performance/sound be between an axleback and a catback ATAK be? Would the catback be much louder?

The Borla ATAK, IMHO, does not drone at all unless you are in D and lugging along at 35. I drive 99% in Sport and it has effectively zero drone nor does it when I do go into D on longer highway cruises.....I bought the ATAK to enjoy it which you can't enjoy any aftermarket exhaust IMHO tooling along in grandma mode....

cat/axle-backs offer no real "performance" enhancement but yes the ATAK cat-back is louder (that's good ) than the the axle-back as the x-pipe is louder than the oem suitcase it replaces.....this where the small amount of drone comes from.

I feel I should clarify not only my drone comments but make a statement about drone in general. When I say it doesn't drone (as I describe above) I am saying it is a system that can be a non-droning system when driven that way. Which is to say one can obviously "make" it drone. This is very different from systems that drone no matter what you do and you would definitely hate the system because it drones with no escape from it. Make any sense?

Yes that makes sense. I usually drive in sport mode too, but in the cases when I'm on the highway cruising and don't need to be on sport mode, just want to make sure it isn't going to annoy me.

The other thing that confused me was why the catback option was for MY15 onwards only? I didn't think there was any difference in the exhaust between the '14 and the '15?

Thanks again!
