Very interesting...can't wait to see the price on this and how it compares to Corsa, GT Haus and other catbacks on the market. For now, I have no issues with the '12-'14 Type S on my 2015.
I'm very intrigued by this particular setup and I too would love to see how this stacks up against the GT Haus and Corsa setup. I've been very tempted in pulling the trigger on a Corsa unit. This might provide the info I need to finally make a decision to upgrade from the stock exhaust setup.
To any inclined early adopters, please post interior audio vid reviews on (I'm the most interested in the last one):
- 0 to 60mph light to moderate acceleration
- 0 to 60mph heavy acceleration/WOT
- 45 to 65mph moderate acceleration
- 30 to 35mph cruising
- 65 to 70mph cruising with and without MDS drone (disengage MDS by toggling sport mode on/off)
I ordered one and am having the axle-back portion ceramic coated black...figure if there are production delays I'm looking at mid-end July before I see the thing.
It finally showed up today. However like rlarsen462, I'm also having the rear portion coated black. Dropping it off Monday for that, but hopefully it doesn't take long to get it back from them.
I dropped my vendor a note to see if they could confirm whether Borla had shipped the exhaust to the coater yet. Hoping to have it mid July, we'll see. Definitely want to hear some clips if someone gets one installed before I get mine.
JB 15 SRT,
I did take it to my local powder coater, but instead of normal coating it is a high heat ceramic coating capable of withstanding high temperatures. This type of coating is done for exhaust systems where as normal powder coat would be for items that wont necessarily see heat fluctuations. I didn't use these guys but they have been doing ceramic coatings for years, good info never the less.
Not the best picture but here you can see what it will look like. I used the ceramic coating on the SS exhaust system on my old truck. It had a duramax diesel and I never had any issues with the heat.

I have mine from Borla, however waiting on my coater. He said it will be done today but I still have to get it installed. Trust me, there's no one more excited to hear it than me! I'll post video asap
