Afe intake on 2016 srt!

Posting this for the SRT guys. Bro in law had this AFE momentum gt intake put on his 2016 srt. Had his friend at Roush Racing put it on that does all his work on his last srt. They said it was the best cold intake setup they have seen so far. I don't know if they put it on the dyno or not. He said it run a lot better than the old afe he had on his 14 srt. Sounds like an expensive install for something that's an easy DIY.
Anyway Momentum intakes look well put together.

Re: Afe intake on 2016 srt!

Lol I know he is friends with the Roush family and lives close to their shop. He is not real handy with his cars and money is not an option for him. Must be nice!

Re: Afe intake on 2016 srt!

Was there any issues in the installation? I tried installing in my 2016 JGC SRT and the bottom holes in the AFE intake do not match up with the OE mounting locations they are of by like a 1/4 inch. also causing a 1/2 in Gap in the bottom seal.

If anyone has any advise please share. Thank you!

Re: Afe intake on 2016 srt!

Interesting, I just called aFe about this intake and they told me that 2015 intake will not fit on a 2016 JGC. He relayed that there is a fitment issue because of a reservoir cap and they are in the process of addressing this issue. They should have the 2016 version by late summer to September.

Re: Afe intake on 2016 srt!

It's my brother in laws jeep. He happens to be coming in from Detroit to my house tonight I'll look at it. He didn't say there was an issue with the install. What exactly is the fitment issue?

Re: Afe intake on 2016 srt!

I was told there was a relocation of a reservoir and the cap was taller so the CAI would not sit properly. I actually saw another thread where someone had clearance issues apparently due to the cap.

Re: Afe intake on 2016 srt!

The pic at the top of this thread is his 16 SRT with the intake on. I saw it in person about 3 weeks ago and it looked ok.
