Re: AFE intake pics

Nice piece!!

I would choose a plastic tube with a shield over a metal tube unshielded any day of the week.

IMO not much to improve on with this design and verry similar as to what we have been looking at making since this design has been tested on other platforms as the one that provides the best results.

Re: AFE intake pics

They are still planning on making a sealed version as well which will be plastic tubing. I tried to push them to do a molded the on this one. Biggest reason for trying out this one is the bwoody bracket keeps breaking. Mike said he will weld it on at no cost but ups wants like $60 just to ship the pipe back. Idk what I'm gonna do.

My bracket has broken a few times also. I ended up just bending the AC line a bit so it didn't rub on the the intake. Been like that for 15k miles and have had no issues.

I went as far as cutting a rubber vacuum line and wrapping it around the ac line then zip tying it in place to keep it from rubbing and tapping on the tube. Just got tired of it just hanging there.

Re: AFE intake pics

Looks very similar to the INJEN CAI system, I like that AFE is more closed around where the air tube passes thru the air wall, but I notice the air wall has some other openings in it in other places that the Injen one doesn't, so I imagine that in real world use, they are probably very similar in results......Both probably do a good job

Re: AFE intake pics

Looks like they're running about $399 in either dry or pre-oiled filters.
