I had same thing once , not a big deal . What's wrong with idle ?

The dealer has done another compression test and I've got low compression in Cyc 1. Before they pull the head off they are going to bore scope it again (need a mirror attachment to check to check what they can see first).

I've broken ring lands on Piston 1. Looks like time for some Forged Pistons. Any recommendations for a drop in set? So far I've found:

Sorry to hear about the engine. Who is doing the re-build for you?

Hardest part now is knowing where to draw the line with rods, pistons, camshaft, valves and springs…. It never ends. I wouldn’t just do pistons and since the engine is out you may as well do it right. Then you can wind up the boost and know the engine can handle it.

It's hard to say what other damage has occurred. You may be lucky with just cracked ringlands but if they have gone further south then you need more than a straight piston swap. My tuner rebuilt a 6.4 2 months ago and fished out a ringland from the cat

Sounds crazy but I’d have a serious look at a full built long block from the States. You can get a stroked 6.4L engine for under $10kplus shipping.

It's at the Jeep Dealer who did my install. I'll speak to RIPP overnight and some of the forged piston suppliers but I think we will be just doing:
- Forged Pistons (about $1K)
- Sending the head off for a check/ clean

It is only Piston 1 and the bore looks fine with no scratches at all from what we could see or feel. Even the head does not look too bad but we will see on this.

I've attached some pics for your entertainment!
- CP1 = Broken Land on Piston 1
- CP2 = Bit of the Ring we found at the front of the Cat (I have no idea where the bits of the Land is however)
- CP3 = Top of the Head (you can see what Piston 1 is like, and how it should look for piston 2 etc).
