Re: Australian RIPP Install (RHD)

Thanks for organising the BOV change! Do you have any recommendations /instructions for where to run the BOV back to?

I pick it up this afternoon and I'll ask on the install notes and any other suggestions.

Thanks
Nathan

It would need to go from the BOV to the front of the air filter - We have a machined piece that could be used for this process.

Getting from the BOV to the air filter where it's appealing may be a task. Alturnatively it can be run loosely across the engine bay to the air filter.

Re: Australian RIPP Install (RHD)

Quick update. Got it back and it looks great. Took it for a quick spin and did a 4.2 0-100kmh but it kept hitting the rev limiter prior to gear changes so defiantly will go quicker. Will need to check if the latest tune in the in Jeep.

Play more tomorrow!

Mate I'd stop driving it ASAP. There has to be an issue hitting the limiter and only doing 4.2
I'm doing 4.4 with just Cai and exhaust.
Do some safe logging and get that to ripps pronto.
Keep us posted please mate and good luck.

Re: Australian RIPP Install (RHD)

Nah it is driving great, smooth and heaps of power. It's just doing a 0-100 it is hitting the rev limiter on prior to some gear changes at which point it stops pulling (of course).

Q for Ripp - I've checked the Intune Updater and it says "This inTune is Up to date" but I thought I had read somewhere there was an updated tune regarding hitting the rev limiter (or .... ???)

Thanks
Nathan

Then the tuner is up to date -

When you first install our system it take about 500-1000 miles for the adaptives to "learn in"... Give it a little time and she will settle into proper shift.

Your welcome to shoot us a log and tunes ripptuing@gmail.com for instructions.

Re: Australian RIPP Install (RHD)

OK - Taking it for a bit of a country spin on the weekend (mostly freeway) so we will see how it settles in.

Regarding the noise from the VTA BOV. Forgetting the legal requirments for a sec, in normal driving conditions I'd consider it fine. As the driver you can (just) hear it as a slight whistle at idle, and the occasional flutter post lift off. After a hard run it screams like a banshee and would leave no one in doubt of what is under the hood.

Thanks
Nathan

Re: Australian RIPP Install (RHD)

Got a new tune overnight and loaded it up

3.8sec 0-100 and it pulled beautifully through the range on my first run but it had just started to rain. Did a couple more (3.9 then 4.0) but the road was getting wetter and wetter. I could feel the difference between these runs but without a dry road.

Well done to whoever at RIPP did the custom tune overnight. I'll post back some logs again.

3.8 felt great and has me wondering what time RIPP is targeting for the kit?

Thanks
Nathan
