Borla Atak catback noise

Could anyone with a broken in ATAK catback comment on how loud it is? I live in a townhouse community and usually leave pretty early in the morning for work (before 6 am) and would prefer my neighbors not hating me for waking them up every morning. Thanks!

I can comment on the exhaust, but your consideration for others is refreshing. 👍🏻

Re: Borla Atak catback noise

There is no doubt about it, it will be loud. All cat backs replace the suit case in the middle with an x pipe. Borla is loud as is lol. Not saying it sounds bad but if its your neighbors that your worried about then no.

On a side note, if you are looking at a very nice cat back for under $1000 look into the AFE. We have it on ours and while its very deep tone its not loud until your on it. Message me for more info if your interested.

Re: Borla Atak catback noise

Thanks guys. Ultimately I would like to determine if its loud enough to wake up my neighbors when I start the car and drive slowly out of my neighborhood, otherwise I don't care how loud it is. Would the S-type make much of a difference?

Re: Borla Atak catback noise

S-type would not be as loud. I live in a similar type of neighborhood, what I do is park in the garage backwards so when I start the car, it is not facing the garage door, I keep the garage door closed until after I start the jeep. This works well for me as neighbors haven't complained yet...problem is then I wake everyone up inside the house ;-)

Re: Borla Atak catback noise

if start-up noise is all that matters and you have an enclosed garage then get the ATAK cat-back and just keep garage closed for the cold-start....as mentioned she does bark enough at cold start-up to bother close neighbors if started outside...started inside a closed garage, no way it could bother them IMHO..And yes, you can slip out of the hood quietly enough. I promise you will love that starting bark (and WOT roar) all the rest of the time.

Re: Borla Atak catback noise

It's loud. I have an enclosed garage, my neighbours bedroom is less than 10m away and he says it's the best alarm he's ever had.

If you want to appease the neighbours stay with the stock, if you want a smile you can't wipe off your face every time you start up get the Borla ATAK.

There is no chance I would ever go back to stock...... 😉

Re: Borla Atak catback noise

Just installed my Borla ATAK catback yesterday on my 2015 SRT. After 2 days of driving I have found it to be...AWESOME, but a little loud and aggressive for my taste. Don't get me wrong it sounds Amazing, but I don't want to be the guy that turns every head as soon as his daily driver starts up at 6:30 AM. I am going to give it a little more time to "break in" to see how the sound settles. In addition, I have noticed drone driving 45-50 mph at 1700 rpm. It may be wishful thinking but I am hoping over the next few weeks this will go away, if anyone has some advice on this let me know! I may be interested in selling or trading for a Borla S type catback, please let me know if you are interested in purchasing or a trade.
