Re: Dual Center Exit

It would be nice if that whole lower black piece came off, But it doesn't really look like it does. If it does I would imagine Black Ops would make a nice CF replacement for a pair of 5" centered tips and everyone would be happy!

Re: Dual Center Exit

I would think that it's just a cover for the hitch that would be removeable. At least I hope the hitch is hideable under a cover.
Anyone check this out while at the show?
Given the second photo above...This HAS to be a cover. Why would you even have a break in that portion if you weren't able to remove it? That would be one solid piece with no line around the hitch area.
Of course, the answer is "pre-production" model, but if so...That seems like a logical cover for a hitch.

Why have the line around it like it's a separate piece? To make it easy to cutout and have a custom Black Ops piece installed post exhaust mod?

Must be!

Re: Dual Center Exit

Just convince yourselves that stock exhaust is better. Problem solved.

Re: Dual Center Exit

Why not make a difuser that fits over the existing difuser? It would cover both outside holes and utilize the existing center opening.

Re: Dual Center Exit

Why would you want the centre exhaust like the old model ?
I personally think it would look bad and be a silly thing to make it look like the WK.
You will also have problems routing it around all the reinforcement for the tow hitch.
You could stick some side pipes out if you want soemthing different, but I think the current location is fine.

If you don't order the tow hitch there's literally nothing behind that part of the bumper all he way to the differential which is tucked up pretty high. In fact, I'm shocked at the amount of empty space below the spare tire carrier above. There's enough room under there to fit a full size spare, I'm surprised some of the people bitching about not being able to have a 5th wheel/tire combo haven't looked at using that space.

Re: Dual Center Exit

well thats why we have chad! maybe he can fab somethin up either a cover or an entire new bumper. I dont mind the exhaust how it is now, but i do prefer the current center exhaust.

YUPPP and that is where the aftermarket will be happy haha! Im sure most shops wouldnt want to cut a bumper and do an exhaust on a beast like this Someone (hopefully MOPAR) may redesign an entirely new bumper for the central exhaust? Just a thought, Id get one if it looked OEM

Re: Dual Center Exit

to be honest...it will take a company like Mopar to do a entire rear bumper...NO small company like black ops is EVER gonna do a full bumper replacement. Its just too much R&D

Re: Dual Center Exit

Scott,
On the Jeep with the hitches, the rear panel where the hitch is hidden is removable, obviously.
Do you think for every SRT8 Jeep, there is a specific bumper for a hitch and ones without the hitch?

In my opinion, I'd say its the same bumper with just a cutout for that cover to be reinstalled for Jeeps with the Hitch option.

The only issue would be the strange indents where the current exhaust tips are.
