got rid of the pinch in the WK2 SRT8 exhaust

hey guys I posted this up on the red site a couple weeks ago and thought I would share this over here as well. If you have looked at your exhaust on your wk2 srt you have seen this pinch where the pipe welds in to the muffler under the seats in the jeep. I didnt think the pinch was that big of a deal till I actually had them cut it out and replace it. As you can see the pinch is almost half the diameter of the pipe and its only on the passenger side. I have noticed a noticeable amount of difference in how the jeep behaves now. There is more throttle response off the line and it seems to run a lot smoother, im guessing because the exhaust flows evenly thru both sides. MDS acts the same, gas mileage seems the same and no CEL's. There is quite a bit less drone inside when MDS kicks on so that is a plus as well.

Interesting since those kinks are usually put in to reduce drone.......

Milous says the kink is there for a bolt access during assembly.

Well, in that case it makes sense it's noting but better with it out of there.

Re: got rid of the pinch in the WK2 SRT8 exhaust

The formation in the right pipe is there to provide tool clearance to one of the fasteners for the drive shaft center bearing. Engine performance is not affected by the formation.

Re: got rid of the pinch in the WK2 SRT8 exhaust

i did 3 inch cat. convertor back and i had by guy just run the pipe in a way which left that bolt accessible just in case.
