Re: Livernois's Whipple supercharged 2014 SRT Jeep

bummer! I would be seriously surprised however if stock internals can handle the 200hp increase with no longevity problems. I know it's an issue in the german market when pushing NA to FI. Especially concerning the Mercedes AMG 5.5l. They supercharge it on some vehicle applications (E55/CLS55/S55/SL55) and with those vehicles they have upgraded internals to handle the increase in power and maintain longevity. Plus that OEM SC doesn't add 200 hp either!

First of all I wanted to take the time to let you know that we, as Livernois Motorsports, will be continuing on with the support for this board. This is a great platform, and one we definitely have some big plans for it moving forward.

With the proper tuning, these engines definitely can handle this type of power increase. The issue to date with the 6.4 engines has always been in our opinion tuning related more than anything else. We have spent time completely re-engineering the way the computer functions in these applications to ensure a reliable setup for years down the road.

We have some applications (namely the 6.1, and 5.7) that we have added well over 200 on the stock engine and the cars have been flawless for years. With that being said, there definitely is a point where we would recommend upgrading the internals. We have our own, proprietary internals, and engine upgrades that we do for the entire family of HEMI engines. From rotating assemblies, to cylinder heads, to rocker system upgrades, camshafts, and more.

Shoot us a PM, or respond here with any questions you may have!

What other mods does this particular jeep have to get that kind of power figure? Has there been any 0-60 times, and 1/4 mile times taken yet?

The truck came into our facility already outfitted with headers, exhaust, and a cold air intake (along with a tune from another source). The Baseline run on the dyno was with those modifications already installed, so this is a true "delta" from just the supercharger and our tuning. We have a few already set to come in that are going to use stock exhaust to keep it a little more tame, that will give you an exact gain on a bone stock vehicle, but we expect the results to be similar.

edit:

We are still working on drivability calibrations now. We get everything handled on the WOT, and have been working on the drivability portions. We expect to have this 100% completed soon. After that is done, it is heading back to Texas for the customer to make some passes with.

Seems to be some confusion there that I will clear up. What Livernois is stating there is true, for them, I was simply a forum rep with inside knowledge of Chrysler tuning (since I did it myself and for Diablo). All their tuning is done in house. The MyCal is a great product and their tuning is top notch. In terms of the current SRT platforms, you simply can't get any better then what they have to work with. Plain and simple.

Thanks for clearing that up , to be honest mate I was on the back burner with the Whipple SC . No disrespect to anyone I was just unclear about on how things were going to go with respect about install questions and tuning questions , for me living all the way down here in Australia I need good support as I am no mechanic just a back yarder jack of all trades .

You're very welcome and I completely understand. I would simply call Livernois up and speak with them directly. They will be able to give you a much more thorough answer and help you out!
