The Whipple kit makes around 7-8# of boost.

Truthfully, it's all in the tuning. Unfortunately, while there is some truth that the 6.4 is not very forgiving compared to a 5.7 or 6.1, It's not like it's made of glass. When tuned properly this level of boost is safe. It's just taking the time to do the calibration properly that takes time. There are some in depth reasons why many choose such a low boost number as well on these, but they all circle back to tuning in the end.

Maybe I'm missing something but the numbers at the beginning and on the dyno don't match what you say at the end of the video. You quote about 20 more lb-ft of torque and 3 hp. What did I miss.

We firmly believe that, while the 6.4 is weaker than say a 6.1 or 5.7, that all of these failures people have are tuning related. We have had many other supercharged builds from other companies come through on 6.4 cars and you'd be surprised how bad they perform and the tune is. I recall a Charger with a Magnuson coming in (tuned by an aftermarket company, not magnuson themselves) and it was 1.0 Lambda until 4000, and then was .95 until 4800, and then finally .75 at 5000 and up. The worst part is the customer was convinced the tune was fine and that the reason people are blowing them up was that the engines are just garbage.

now, we obviously are taking great care in making certain the tune is spot on, but we have zero worries about the finished product being safe and reliable on a stock engine. These are complicated to tune, and without the right knowledge, very easy to grenade due to the tune. The only thing that makes this platform unique is that so many other companies have convinced people that it's the engine's fault for failing, not the tune.
