My first victim eats my dust!

Hello!

My inner child got the best of me the other day... A guy in my neighborhood has a black Mustang Shelby Cobra with a very nice sounding exhaust as most Mustangs do... The guy however, drives like a tool... As such, the tool was behind me as I was leaving my community when he decided to overtake me on the left at a high rate of speed and continue on down the road... a few miles later, I catch up to him at a red light and stay in the lane to the right of him but slightly to the rear... He's revving the engine an looking over his shoulder, waiting for the green light... I calmly switch to 'Sport' mode and wait... Once the light turned green, I punched it, my beast launched off the line and for the next 1/4 mile or so, the Mustang although trying to catch up, was a good 6 car lengths behind! Finally, at the next stop light, he kept his distance from the beast!

It's the little things that count! Next!

Nice Kill bro, glad you got the chance to show him up. Didn't he know this 5k lb beast hits 30mph in 1.5 seconds.

Haha isn't it great. I had an old man and his wife try and race me yesterday. Was the most random thing me and my wife were driving and I knew this guy was itching to race me. Got caught up at a red light and I told my wife "watch this old guy take off" sure enough he did, I was ready and blew by him haha. Was a late model CLK350 convertible not sure what they guy was thinking LOL

Stop. Just stop. Even an earlier model Shelby isn't losing to a WK2 SRT by 6 car lengths. You're always going to take them off the line, but they'll reel you in quick once they have traction and full boost. If you supposedly had 6 car lengths on him at 1/4 mile then you would have to had 9 or 10 at the start....no. He wasn't trying, you left early, or he missed a shift. If he had a real Shelby, it's a whole second faster than the WK2 SRT in the quarter mile.

Re: My first victim eats my dust!

^^^^ DUh! Of coarse the mustang botched the launch and he just gave up. A very adept race car driver had wise words when he said....Tenths turn into car lengths real quick and objects in your mirror are closer than they appear. Either way he probably spun through first and after he was 4 car lengths behind he just gave up.

Speaking as an old man, the guy didn't give a hoot about you. He looked a little antsy, and took off a little faster than you expected, because he had to get home to take a leak.

Been there, done that.

Not to Hijack but I have to add my story. I was driving on an open toll road with my wife about 6 months ago. Cold weather, 1/8th tank of gas, low humidity. Jeep was feeling damn good. I see a brand new M6 convertible so I pull up next to it. Old rich drug cartel Hispanic looking man driving it with a vest and gold watch, drinking a cup of coffee. I pull up next to him, GTHaus in Open Mode, and downshift. He slowly glances over, nods at me, casually sets his coffee down, downshifts, and then we do a couple of back to back runs. He must have been related to the most interesting man in the world because his motions were awesome. I left with a huge smile. The first time I got the jump starting around 60 and it took him until 100-110 to pass me. The second time he got the jump and he pulled me the whole time.

Re: My first victim eats my dust!

I'm sure the specs on the Shelby is quite accurate as you describe... If you read my post, you'll see that I was behind him a bit at the line... I'll venture to say he was not as good a driver as he thought or like I wrote in my post... The guy drives like a tool! Still, that sucker was in my rear view bro... 😜
