Re: RIPP Superchargers 2012-2014 SRT Stage 1 Testing results

No real news to speak of yet. The kits have not been fully produced and aren't ready for distribution yet. They are supposed to be available with in the next 1-2 weeks. I have one preordered and will be picking it up as soon as I get the phone call that it is ready to go. As far as performance goes...went out in Ross' truck with the prototype if this system on it. Felt amazing. His truck only has 1700 miles on it so I can imagine it's only gonna get faster with mileage. If you really want info from him...don't bother emailing. Just pick up the phone and call. They answer everytime. It's only a small 5 guy shop so I think production is keeping them all busy right now and they answer a phone when they hear it but don't necessarily sit down everyday and take the time to check emails.

This price is going to make it really, really hard not to order... Wonder how the wife is going to react if it maybe just shows up one day?

RIPP Superchargers is a splendid one to behold
Re: RIPP Superchargers 2012-2014 SRT Stage 1 Testing results

Hey guys, as you may or may not know RIPP is very respected in the Wrangler circles, As such we take a yearly trek from NYC (our home) to Moab Utah. This year we had our own trail run with 40 Jeeps many of which were RIPP Supercharged. Please enjoy this video produced by Rockstar Energy Drinks, Rockstar Garage.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3W4657Yy2Q

When we got back we went to testing the Durango R/T 5.7. We tested the NA Power at 276rwhp awd.

When you put this vehicle is DYNO MODE - they are automatically in RWD mode... This AWD system is 70/30 which means its AWD for the first few feet then switches off to RWD - Its only AWD for the traction gears 1st and 2nd, then is 100%RWD... False advertising is very very harsh words in our direction...We strive to be as transparent and upfront as possible... If you notice we have an AWD Dyno-Dynamics DYNO... The 2011-2014 Durango and WK2 GC 5.7 are stuck in AWD ALL THE TIME - The SRT is different and more efficient for the sport driving we all enjoy. So in reality we are testing exactly the way the vehicles are driven and therefore being honest.

Yea - it's really a lot of fun to drive - feels perfect in our opinion - 140mph comes rolling along all to easy...

Wouldn't want sh1t breaking a few thousand kms after an install.

That,s a very fair question and that's exactly why we own a 2014 SRT - We truly believe the best way to enjoy and develop any SC'd vehicle is by owning one. Ours has been 100% spot on, cold weather testing was 100% including those sub zero cold starts and driveablility is really predictable and easy to live with. We do not shut any engine safety monitoring off, so if the cats get hot we bend our engine management to keep both the engine and cats safe. It there were knock we bring back timing to keep things safe. If air intake temps are too hot we fatten the mixture up a tad to cool things down chemically.

We've spent a lot of time around both transmissions (6spd and the 8spd) and found out pretty much every thing there is to know regarding the stock parts. Being conservative and focusing on reliability we tried to lay out a fair power program that can easily be bumped up later. Below is an outline that makes sense to based on that. Rember guy, we're quoting WHP with stock manifolds and cats.

2012-2013 SRT and 5.7 GC/Durango:
We would suggest the 4psi set up for the 6spd's which puts the power at 509rwhp and 490trq on stock exhaust manifolds and exhaust. The reason we suggest this is the 6spd is rated at 600 crank HP. With a calculated drive-train loss of 18% RWD that puts us right at the trans handling point (509rwhp + 18% = 600). As we get bolder and establish ourselves we'll open up a little more power, its not hard to do. But, we'd think we'd all agree that 50less HP for 100% more reliability is a fair trade.

2014 SRT GC AND R/T 5.7:
8spd 6psi, because the trans is rated at 700HP crank - We found 569rwhp at 6psi and backed it down to 530hp to keep thing honest and safe with just 1500 miles on the odometer of our shop 2014 SRT. None-the-less 570rwhp + 18% = 672crank HP. Which is within limits. We figure with a header it "should" hit 700 crank WHICH IS 600whp (wheel) pretty easy at 6psi. Since 1) when aren't dealing with stock heating cats and 2) they flow better. The cat-back Exhaust system gains are still up for examination in our opinion, we aren't convinced the current exhaust system have proven a benefit to the power curve (Unless there are dyno proven results we don;t know about, please link us up to them, we'd gladly test them if said companies are open to it).

Everybody tends to call their rigs a beast. It's not truly a beast unless you have one of these kits installed. Needless to say I have one preordered and hope to pick it up before the end of the month and install it with it friend. Will give updates once I get to that point if anyone is interested.

Mike, it was great meeting with you - and yes we are working at capacity in the current location, but to be honest we are being held up by Vortech, we placed our order about 3 weeks ago and are looking to take delivery next week. Once the blowers are in place we will assemble the per-production kits and get them out to the willing testers.

Thank you for the vote of confidence, it means a lot to us when we can impress a new group and client. As we previously expressed, if we wouldn't want to live with the mod, neither would potential clients. We are equally as excited to get parts in your hands.

Is the 530 @ 4psi? If so, what changes are required to adjust the boost on your setup?

Awesome info

Isn't it amazing what can happen when tuning is finally opened up? I don't see how anyone with a 2014 isn't going to want this kit
