Re: RIPP Superchargers 2012-2014 SRT Stage 1 Testing results

What is involved with boosting the power handling capability of the 5spd tranny in the 2013? Cost involved?

RIPP has always had tuning for the 12-14 Jeep, we were the first on the market with the 2007-2014 Wrangler, cracking the ECU first each time with Diablo. We work extensively with the crew there...

Great to here - its beast once you get it, it really rounds out the chassis perfectly...

Well to be honest - its a matter of cracking it open and just beefing up the pressure and clutch packs... We're sure there are several companies out there the offer services. Push come to shove we have one shop in mind we would refer to this community. We'd want to speak to them first and get some details about the possible power gains and cost. In the mean time, we'll focus on the reliability side... there's always time for more.

RIPP, chance of getting the intercooler in black like I have seen for other applications I believe you have on your site. Don't really like the big silver piece behind the front grill.

At the moment we are offering silver - mostly because its an in your face mod... its not hard to get them coated in black and we could offer it. But to be honest people freak when they see it. We've been taking pics of it at dead straight angels to show it off... But in reality, you don't see it when your standing at normal levels...

Besides - whats better than pumping down the HWY in whats an already feared machine and then noticing the FMIC... #justsayin

The W5A580 has been in SRT vehicles from the beginning. There are a couple of companies who make upgraded versions. SHR Viking seems to be a very popular choice, but there are others.

On a new note, is the AWD unit the same as the last gen? If so, where will we run into issues with it power wise?

No probs - I've resent my email but the Q's are basically as follows + a price for shipping to Sydney:

He also said that it looks like this kit uses a Blow Off Valve to the atmosphere but we need a "Plumb Back".

So couple of q's for the Ripp guys:
- Does (or can) the kitt include a Pumb Back for the Blow Off Valve?
- Any idea if the kit/tune will meet IM240 emission tests?

Thanks
Nathan

Contact is Garry or Anthony - evo compliance - 02) 9418 9999
Also have you had the time to do a before / after 0-100kmh comparison?

THanks

Re: RIPP Superchargers 2012-2014 SRT Stage 1 Testing results

...and I was speaking to an installer who tried to leave me with the impression that a centrifugal supercharger was not ideal, something about boost not being linear but I glazed over at this point.

To me the description of this kit seem to tick all my boxs as the SRT is my daily drive (and don't want any issue):
- Bolt on to Stock SRT
- Low chance of problems with a Stock SRT
- decent bump in power

Re: RIPP Superchargers 2012-2014 SRT Stage 1 Testing results

The silver does stick out, but I think most will want a black intercooler. Many like the blacked out look of the grill and take the time to black out the grill rings. Putting a silver intecooler behind it takes away from the look IMO.

I'd agree on the comments on Black vs Silver
