Re: Twin Turbo 2013 srt8 in progress

Does anybody know in the end which one will be faster? This twin turbo or the RIPP supercharger? I guess faster is the best way to compare them...0-60 & 1/4 mile. Dyno horsepower numbers don't always tell the whole story of how much of that power turns into speed.

Oh and I am guessing the RIPP kit will be the cheaper option correct? And probably the only one that could be installed in your garage over a weekend correct?

Yes Ripp will be much cheaper. Earlier in this thread they mentioned 20-30k vs 7k. The turbo will end up being much faster if they are throwing on forged motors.

Re: Twin Turbo 2013 srt8 in progress

right...twin turbo systems use the intake and exhaust to boost...plus I believe most of these are built on forged 392's. But your looking at $25-30k for this option plus weeks to months without your truck versus $7k for the supercharger

It has to be, because you will not be able to run that turbo setup with that power, on a stock 6.4L. Basically, you'll be building a custom engine and turbo setup.

If they both were running the same psi of boost what is the difference? If the turbo's were only running at 5-6 psi of boost would you still need a complete forged motor?

You seem to know a lot about this kind of stuff - thanks for always answering my questions
