Re: WK2 SRT8 Borla ATAK

anyone on here install the ATAK yet? I like the look of it. would this borla system replace the resonators or whatever is just behind the tips on the OEM Jeep SRT8? My black paint is peeling off on these little things and it would be cool to replace with this borla setup.

It replaces all the factory exhaust parts from the rear axel back. So yes to your question. No one has installed one yet. Order bank just opened and I was one of the first to place an order. As for when the system ship is not known yet. I would assume within the week or so we should receive our orders. I've sent an email asking about the shipping status of mine. Haven't heard back yet.

I got an E-mail from them stating out of stock. Will update when shipped. If you get yours before I do, I'll be ticked.

From one of my previous emails, I was asking about the time frame for the exhaust to be listed for sale. Here was their response:

"Should be on website by end of this week. Please allow 3-4 weeks availability from our manufacturing facility in Johnson City, TN."

It's possible that we may not see our ordered exhausts ship for a couple weeks or more. I'm hoping that they ship out sooner than that. I'm really excited to get it put on my Jeep in the next week or so, but if we gotta wait, we gotta wait. I just want that loud aggressive exhaust note to go with the power of the Jeep again, plus those 5" tips will look great back there! If I here anything I'll keep ya posted.

Re: WK2 SRT8 Borla ATAK

Damn Hotmail! it keeps putting my emails from order@borla into my junk folder! I got the same replay back when I asked about my order. I guess they still gotta manufacture the exhausts and we will probably see them near the middle end of the month...

"Order #, the part number you requested is currently out of stock. We have processed your order and will notify you when it is ready to ship. If you have any questions regarding the status of your order, please reply to this email or contact us at 877- 462-6752 Ext. 246."

See... I made that # go away! By the way. Eibach saying the end of the month. No other equipment needed to lower due to the minimal drop.

Thank you. What kind of drop are they looking to release?

Gotcha. I'm still debating if I'll lower mine. If I do I probably won't be the first to do so. I kinda like the couple extra inches of clearance. But lowering it 1" wouldn't be bad. I slammed my WK1 with bwoodys. Sometimes only having 5" of clearance to the bumper got annoying.

Re: WK2 SRT8 Borla ATAK

I did get confirmation that the stock exhaust needs to be cut off behind the rear valves for installation.

Re: WK2 SRT8 Borla ATAK

They updated the pics on the Borla site. Shows the actual ATAK system now. Install looks like it could be done at home assuming you have the tools to cut the stock exhaust. Use the factory hanger locations and the supplied clamps the clamp the new Borla sections over the factory.
