Re: WK2 SRT8 Borla ATAK

I read on another forum that Borla may release a full exhaust and get rid of the valves like Corsa is doing. Anybody have any knowledge of this?

Gotcha. I think that may just be misread. From all my talks with Alvin, the Borla guy in charge of the Jeep, he never mentioned anything besides the axel back setups. I could be wrong though.

On a side note, with the help of Forza reminding me to check my junk email folder, we are starting to get updates on our exhausts.

"Your order # is in stock and has been processed for shipping. Once shipped, you will be sent email confirmation containing tracking information."

Re: WK2 SRT8 Borla ATAK

im not installing anything that requires torching and cutting to my car, i mean common if borla people r crazy enough to cut it then the crazier are the ones who are going to cut their stock ones, it will eventually lead to mis- connection and possibly leaking IF improperly installed.

anyway thats my own opinion, yea it looks awesome and amazing and i love the huge tips but... common do i have to cut my exhaust? why cant i have them un-bolted like the wk1 !!!

The end of the borla is flared open and will slide over the factory pipes where the cut is made. A band clamp then secures the connection tightly and leak free. Borla isn't new to making exhaust. I'm sure their solution is well thought out and developed.

Your main point I read was "if installed incorrectly" even a full bolt up could suffer being installed incorrectly and leak.

listen man i am completely in love with this exhaust, and borla has its history, heck ive been their customer on many other vehicles since long time ago.

point to be said, i dont like the installs that requires cutting, i would prefer the bolt-ons since its easier to install and can reduce the fact of improper installation such as on these.

plus i would really hate to see a mistake to be done, such as one tip is showing more rather than the other ones.

my opinion is if its not a bolt on them am not cutting my exhaust pipes.

thats just irresponsible.

i dont know this is how i feel.

Re: WK2 SRT8 Borla ATAK

its funny how the installation instructions tell you NEVER to use air impact tools to tighten the parts, but the guy in the last pic is using one lol.

True. Unless its torque limited. The main point is not to over torque and crush the tubing.

Cool they got the instructions up. I've been checking daily for them.
