Re: WK2 SRT8 Borla ATAK

For an ATAK system it really doesn't sound that loud. Of course we still have the main muffler so even with straight pipes it will never be too loud.

I'm really between the ATAK and the S, can't wait to hear how you like it at cruise speeds. I'll be spending a lot of time on the highway so what sounds great around town can get real old real fast after a few hours on the road.

Sounds great at cruising speeds. It's loud once you really get on it.

Re: WK2 SRT8 Borla ATAK

Mongoose, where did you get the harness and bulbs for the euro tails? I remember my 09 already had the bulbs but no wires. Is this the same? Im interested in doing that.

I went halogen. To me, just having LED bulbs instead of an LED tail light assembly isn't worth the extra cost.

You only have reflectors in the lower rear bumper... You need the rear fog light housings as well.

Re: WK2 SRT8 Borla ATAK

Congrats mjw, did not see your vehicle upgrade till this thread. As Goose will undoubtedly comment, the Borlas are more aggressive than an A/V clip can capture. Huge props on he latest SRT8 version.

FWIW here is the Borla CB proto on the 5.7, the big boy must be a rumbler in any form.

Re: WK2 SRT8 Borla ATAK

First post, just got my 2012 SRT8.

Instead of the Borla, why not just bend your own pipe? Or even easier go to Meineke and have them install straight tubing where the resonators were back and have the tips welded back on. At most it would be $200 tops.
The clips sound great donít get me wrong, but I think youíll get the same with straight pipe, no?

Moose, thanks, it was a spur of the moment thing, the stars aligned and I now have an SRT8.

Actually, I don't think any system on the SRT will get as loud as yours since we're only replacing the rear portion. Yours is a full cat back, we're stuck with the main factory muffler mostly because of the MDS valves which I can confirm, you don't want to lose. I tie wrapped mine open just to hear and it's an annoying sound when the MDS kicks in.
