Damn. I was thinking it was a diffuser. The new LX srt vehicles are using diffusers to allow aftermarket exhausts. I guess since the normal jeep doesn't have tips located in the bumper, they could do a one piece. Well, scratch the cheap center exhaust swap. Now a new rear bumper will be needed with paint so it just rose to about $1,500.

I was told that the new LX vehicles also use a one piece rear fascia.

It is a separate piece on the LXs....unless they are taping them off to paint which I highly doubt. Look here....the diffuser is an add on piece.

Actually, you are wrong. The original assumption was that it was two pieces which you said would cost 2k to do. Two pieces would in no way remotely cost that. If it is fact one piece, you are still wrong.

Fascia: 500
Paint: 500
Exhaust piping: 3-400

1,400 is not 2,000

According to the parts book, it's one piece. At the assembly plant they are installed as one piece, I believe that they are sent from the supplier pre-painted with the two pieces permanently pre-assembled.

Re: WK2 SRT8 Center Exhaust

It doesn't really matter. One of the rich ballers that end up buying these things first at $50+ will take it to Black Ops or somewhere else and have them make a custom bumper, which he can mass produced and waalaa! I give it 3-6 months before someone has one out there, tops! If I get one anytime soon, I'll be one of them. I have towing capability, it's called a truck!

No 2012 are currently for sale and that is a mute point anyway. Any modern bumper for cars built within the last few years is equivalent to 2012. As for the bumper, eom bumper replacements do not go for 500, but aftermarket bumpers go for $500 and under. I am not talking about offering this from the factory. This would be completely aftermarket, and hence, have an aftermarket price.

Under 500 and grip is one of the most expensive aftermarket offerings. This is an entire new rear bumper as would be the center exhaust.

Interesting. How are they permanently assembled? Is it an adhesive? I guess technically it becomes one piece, but starts as two. I am sure one could separate them if they wanted. A new rear diffuser that attaches over the existing one would also work...just trim the center of the oem diffuser. Thanks for the info Milous.
