Break Squeal

3 month old Brembo calipers and rotors. HPS STREET BRAKE PADS... They are squealing at slow speeds and without pressing the pedal. Not always but occasionally... Even when I back up. It's coming from the left rear. Could it be the emergency brake pads? It does squeal occasionally when I press the pedal also.

Re: Break Squeal

Brand new everything. The mechenic did the embedding. I'm not really sure if he did it properly. The left rear started about 2 or 3 months after install. Thinking of going with a different pad on the rears or take these off and regrease the pads.. What do you think. Really is bad first time driving it in the morning. Goes away for a while and then returns.

It's for this reason we mix the pads and do the Stoptec rear only on the website it's now 100% but the best chances of avoiding this is the stoptechs in the rear even tho plenty have been successful with the HPS all the way around.

Honestly I only put the rear Hawks up because people where giving me crap on why I sell only the fronts and not matching pads front and rear for their rigs and how that's bad business.

I simply reply
" I try to avoid all customer service and only sell what I know works best"

I only what to deal with what I hear the lease amount of complaints from to avoid posts like this (Even tho you din't get them from us).

I try to help the Jeep Crew out to the best of my ability but unfortunately their are so many opinions and know it all's customers still tend to be swayed by other vendors or shops into doing what "they" believe instead of what has been tested and known to work Basically inexperienced shops/vendors.

Let me know if I can be of any help and feel free to call any time 239.691.7515.

If I don't answer leave a message if you email and I don't reply email again I get 1000's of emails a week and can sometimes just put some aside for a later time that are not time sensitive Info@blackopsautoworks.com

Break Squeal

Can we bring this topic back to life? Did OP's problem resolve itself? If not, what did you do to resolve the issue? I have Brembo Cross Drilled Rotors all around and the Hawk front and StopTech rear setup. This was installed approximately 6 weeks ago and about three weeks ago the rear passenger assembly began to create a loud squeal noise when applying light pressure to the brake pedal. It'll occur when backing up and lightly braking as well. What troubleshooting measures can I take to eliminate the problem. FWIW, I also notice more brake pad dust on my rear passenger wheel and caliper. I'm not sure if the two are related, though it appears strange to me. Thanks!!

Re: Break Squeal

I fixed my problem. I had the left rear wheel taken off and sanding down the rotor. Took the brake pads off and applied new grease to the back of the pad. No more squeal..

Oh very cool. Thanks for the quick explanation. What type of and paper was used? I can try that this weekend.

Don't know the mechanic did it. I would think a fine grit would be good.

Re: Break Squeal

It's been awhile since I read my own post. I did replace the rears with the Stoptec pads. Didn't help but maybe because the Hawks had already left a glace on the rotor. I have a feeling my guy didn't do a thorough job the first time. After re-applying grease and sanding the rotor down it's been good. I'm happy again and loving my Brembos...
