A buddy of mine has this tool that keeps the calipers pistons pushed in....and it make sit super easy to change pads. no bleeding etc. Just remove the old pads and insert the new ones. We have a how to for brake pads here on the forums also. All calipers are basically the same.

Re: Hawk Pads now available for 2012 Jeep SRT8

It is easy easy. I have always done everything with my vehicles, so tearing into something new isn't any big deal to me.

I ordered the set from Amazon...

I'd be glad to help you out - I have plenty of tools and space. If you give it a go on your own, you need a punch, a mallet, a wrench and a 13mm socket.

Re: Hawk Pads now available for 2012 Jeep SRT8

What wrench is needed for the front brakes caliper support bolt? (WK1 SRTs don't have this because the brakes are slightly smaller and don't require the added support).

Re: Hawk Pads now available for 2012 Jeep SRT8

Which of the Hawks did you guys end up going with? I see you mention both the performance ceramic and the HPS Perfomance streets. Is the performance close to that of the stock pads? I am looking at changing mine as this dust is just crazy on the stock pads.

Re: Hawk Pads now available for 2012 Jeep SRT8

I went with the HPS. The stopping power is equivalent IMO, but the initial 'bite' is softer. I actually prefer this over the stock as it is easier in traffic.

And, 3 days later and my fronts are just about as clean as they were after washing on Saturday. No complaints at all from me!

Re: Hawk Pads now available for 2012 Jeep SRT8

what is the pros/cons difference between the Hawk performance ceramic and HPS pads? I too am tired of cleaning the vapor wheels everyday; part of my OCD personality. About ready to buy a set, just not sure which one.

Re: Hawk Pads now available for 2012 Jeep SRT8

From Hawk regarding the difference on a 5.0 Mustang (my buddy just ordered a set and was curious what the difference was):

"The dust and noise level for the PC and HPS will be the same. The difference will be that the PC dust is a light gray color.

The reason I recommended the HPS is because the HPS will give you a sportier feel to the brakes while the PC will give you a smoother engaging pad."

Re: Hawk Pads now available for 2012 Jeep SRT8

What is the best place online to get them from? I'm scouring the internet right now. I may go with the ceramic ones, looking for most quiet with less dust...
