Used to have 2010 challenger srt, now 2014 jeep srt and 2012 Ram 1500. I tried many options with all my mopar vehicles. Always the best for braking is the factory. With HAWK only dust will be reduced but braking was not good, removed it from my jeep after a week and bought factory pads. Now my set is bremboo drilled with factory pads, you go and try, you may get the better results than me

Re: Need to Order Brake Discs and Pads... Where do you recommend?

Hands down is the Racing brake two pc rotors for stopping with their Pads that can be made to your driving style. They honestly have been the standard replacement fort GTR since their OEM stuff is silly priced. The rotor compound and pad compound are matched. Not to mention the Rotors are lighter and Balanced something I don't hear a lot of when people talk rotor and pad but definalty importaint.

The Oem works well because they are soft and daily driving is mostly slow and steady with the occasional beat.

The Hawks or Stop tech pads works well but the misconception is they don't work as well as the OEM and this may be correct on a daily driver if you never get them to operating temps which could result in some squeezing or weak stopping power. Now if you drive hard and really heat them up then I think most will find they perform as good or better than OEM stuff.

Porterfield pads are great pads and they are better than most street pads but they really shine and perform well when they are hot. This is typical of a performance pad most found squeal like a pig when cold.

So I just bought the Hawk HPS pads. Putting them on in a couple of days. So your saying they won't work as good as the OEM pads for a daily driver?

I can not say this 100% but I can say If you do not bed them properly and drive the truck and get them to tempetature frequently they "Could" as mentioned above squeak.

Like mentioned above their is a misconception by a lot that they don't work as well as the OEM but from The stats heated to operating temps they should work well.

So as good as OEM's too many variables to be quite honest with ya I can not tell you the sun is coming up tomorrow and would not make a claim of anything everyone has an opinion,Driving style, Install method an climate.

Hawks and Stoptechs have been the standard replacement for SRT's for the 10 years I've been following SRT so they are not junk by any means.
