Power Stop Z26 Pads

Well, I bit the bullet and just ordered the Power Stop Z26 pads (front and rear) for my 16. Gonna be getting new wheels soon and didn't want to have to deal with the awful brake dust from the OEM Brembo pads. The Hellcat and Corvette owners swear by these. I know the Jeep SRT's are much heavier but, I dont track it and it's a DD. Maybe some spirited street driving here and there. These will be going on along with my Mopar springs I ordered. Figured since the wheels will be off at the dealership for the springs install, I'll go ahead and get these installed also. OEM pads will be coming off with about 4500 miles on them. Part #'s are (Front) Z26-1405 and (Rear) Z26- 1053.

Re: Power Stop Z26 Pads

I have them on my Hellcat Challenger and they work GREAT! I picked up my SRT Grand Cherokee yesterday and ordered the same Powerstop pads yesterday, as well. My wheels were dull with brake dust last night after driving home from the dealer. The Brembo pads make an incredible amount of dust.

Great to hear that! Congrats on the new pick up too👌. Hopefully they'll be great on our Jeeps as well.

Re: Power Stop Z26 Pads

Just put these on the front last night, man what a difference! IMO so far the stopping power is about 90% of the OEM with 10% of the brake dust! That's a trade I'm willing to make as this is my DD as well and the brake dust was not just getting on the wheels but the whole truck. This has been my favorite mod to date, the dealer should give us the option as I took mine off after only 250 miles. Now I can find something more constructive to do with the 15-30 minutes everyday it took to clean the nasty dust off my wheels!

BTW: if anyone wants a set of hardly used OEM pads let me know otherwise they are going in the trash.

Glad to hear this! I'll be heading to the dealer tomorrow to have my front and rears installed along with the Mopar springs. Can't wait to get rid of all the brake dust on the wheels.

Just had mine installed yesterday front and rear. You're right about the 90% stopping power. How does your brake pedal feel? On mine I've noticed it going a little more towards the floor and the pedal feels a little spongy. Maybe I'm just used to the OEM pads feel and I have to adjust to the new pads. Your thoughts?

I've noticed that it's a little softer than the OEM pads but not by much especially after I bedded the pads. Did you do that?

Also another thing that seems like it helps is going to an empty parking lot and put the vehicle in reverse up to like 20mph and hitting the brakes hard, that normally adjust them as well, I notice they are much stiffer. I would do this after you bed the pads though.

I had the dealership do the install and I'm pretty sure they bedded them. I'll try that reverse method too and see if it changes any. It could be that I was so used to the OEM pads feel too. Thanks. Will post updates .

Re: Power Stop Z26 Pads

I would not rely on a dealer bedding brakes. I don't think they will flog your vehicle like it should be to bed them. I did the full rotor and pad swap on my 300, after bedding them from about 70 you can about have your eyeballs sucked out during hard braking. I'm swapping the jeep pads and rotors after I buy my winter tire and wheel setup. The stopping power is incredible along with the seriously reduced brake dust makes $500 well worth it.

What's the proper method of bedding them?
