Re: Stock brake pad replacement options

I would never recommend ceramics on a jeep srt....even made a thread about it. I do highly recommend the hawk hps sports...which I've ran for years on multiple jeep SRT'S. Im sorry if there was a confusion.

Re: Stock brake pad replacement options

I put on my Brembo cross drilled rotors and bedded them with the Hawk Ceramics. I have to say they felt better on my old worn lipped oem Brembo rotors. They're absolutely hideous with these and I can't wait to get them off. They just don't warm up and making quick stops for turns or corners takes more distance. If I try to brake at my normal braking point I've been used to, they still grab, but that hard bite is not there. That's what I'm used to and I really dislike them so much I wanna to just chuck them into the trash. I have less than 1000 miles on them and I bedded them twice weeks apart. I bought them with Amazon Prime and going to order Hawk HPS through them. I'm just going to ask for a refund or discount on the new order bc they really suck.

Re: Stock brake pad replacement options

So, my experience with pads other than OEM brembo which most of us hate only due to dust:
Did Z23's (powerstop) on my 16 charger Hellcat- Loved them- 0, zip, nadda noise, No dust, cheap, came with full replacement hardware, minimal bite sacrifice. My opinion rating: 10/10

Hawk Pads on 14' WK2 SRT (Currently installed and will be removed and trashed soon): Stupid expensive compared to other products, no hardware in the box, noisy (Yes the rotors were prepped, pads properly bed and lubed), no dust, same bite as Z23's. My opinion rating: 2/10

Trust me: Go with the Z23's.

heard good things about 5.0's and they are what the Hawk techs reco for our SRT...heard several "a lot less initial bite than OEM" comments on the Z23's....too many variables to compare others' +/-, just gotta take the info and try a set....cost diffs imho don't really sway since it's small money diff for 1-2 yr life unless we are talking 1 or 2 use life of track day pads.
