Re: 2014 SRT Headlight DRL Activation

I'm about to install my DRL harness today. However, I just noticed last night that the LED's on the rear drivers side door that illuminate behind the door handle and cupholder are not working. Do you guys think the dealer will give me a hard time and try voiding my warranty on electrical if they see this harness is installed when I bring it in?

A harness under the hood has nothing to do with lights on a door. I had my headlights replaced for water intrusion with my harness installed. I really don't think this would be a problem. But I would say better safe than sorry.

Re: 2014 SRT Headlight DRL Activation

I ordered the kit and received last week - it's awesome. Took no more than 30 minutes to install and works exactly as advertised. One option I needed was the ability to have the car running but be able to turn the lights completely off which is not an option in the base install - if the car is on, the lights are always on. Needing to turn them off isn't a common occurrence, but when I'm at places like Sonic or a little league game, there are times the car is running and I need to be able to kill all the lights as a courtesy to others.

The solution. Add a $5 12V toggle switch into the line leading from the battery. Most of the time the lights will always be on, but on the rare occasion I can now toggle off. I chose to run the wire over to the driver side next to the parking break. Took about 3 hours to test it all, feed the wires from the engine compartment, install the switch and tidy things up. Would probably one take 30-45 minutes if I had to do it again. Here's some pics to illustrate the switch placement for anyone that might be interested.

Nice modification to the Mod! Glad the install went well.

Re: 2014 SRT Headlight DRL Activation

Hi There,

So I took the wiring diagram to my local Jeep Dealer where I bought my MY15 SRT to and they say the wiring is very different on the 2015 model compared to the 2014 model. Something down the lines of 18 wires on the MY15 vs 8 wires on the MY14. They did try your route.

Any idea on a wiring diagram for the 2015 model?

Thanks,

Alex

PS - Thanks for all the previous diagrams.

The 2015 does not have a line running to the to the headlight DRL ribbons. Since finding this two pins/wires are included to populate the missing lines when needed.

I do not have a wiring diagram for the 2015 at this time unfortunately.
