I just wanted to provide some additional info on the DRL mod that I discovered while doing mine. I'm not a fan of fuse or wire taps (my personal preference) or putting holes in the fuse box for wires to come through.
I also noticed that the F40 DRL fuse/relay provides power to the DRL's on 2015 export models even when the DRL's are not illuminated. Someone mentioned that they ran power from fuse F40 with no relay straight to pin 3 on their headlights as the DRL's go off when headlights are on. I found this caused issues with adaptive headlights. Even on 2015 export models the relay is required as it shuts off power to pin3 on headlight activation.
Here's what I did. (with pictures)
Instead of using a mod tap I pulled power from under the fuse box usng pin 10 (this goes to the drls on the srt) from the small power distro block. I didn't take pics of the adapter I created, I pulled pin 10 from the harness created a Y adapter so that I didnt have to cut the factory loom.
As I didn't want to tap in to the headlight wiring loom for the + output back to the relay I made up short bridging wiring looms using 16x MX150 male and female adapters. Link below. This made the entire setup plug and play with no evidence or taps being used.
I did all of this as I didnt want to give my dealer any excuses or have any visual evidence where wires may have been tampered with.
Hope this helps someone.
A huge thanks to CLSTech for all of your info on this.
