Re: HOW TO: 2014 Grill ring removal

Can I ask where did you get the SRT badge for your lower grill? I ordered one and it came with 2 plastic tabs to attach through the grill and I could not find a good place to attach. Probably got the wrong one. Thanks.

At least I am assuming these are the part numbers as they are the only numbers I can find on the rings I removed.
Great write up! This was very helpful. I just bought all 7 rings in gloss black (entire kit part #68261150AA). They didn't tell me which rings were which, so I compared to all your numbers and everything matched your numbers except ring #7. Instead of "365648", mine shows "365643"). I'm 100% sure it's a 3 instead of an 8. Not sure if there are alternate numbers, or maybe yours is a typo, but just wanted to point that out for anyone else who pops in here for reference.

Re: HOW TO: 2014 Grill ring removal

Finally got all of mine done...lowers I had painted, rings are $60 ebay jobs (leaving them on till they get chipped up or fall off...I also have the OEMs painted similar to lowers. Simple job, there is an excellent pic based install post on this thread that would have made my life easier....and mine took 30 mins tops...but I could do it 10-15 now

I did sequential incremental numbers left to right when facing the vehicle iiirc...confirm?

No, if you check jbjones' part # list, the numbers are definitely not sequential.

btw, your SRT looks great. Here's mine:

Guys did you tape off the painted area so as to not damage? And did everyone use the same exact tool as in the OP write up? Because I see different tools on amazon for cheaper. Just want to make sure it's thin enough.

BLACK...unless you are taking things a different direction (ie IMO brakes/trim/interior/under hood etc), just my thought

Why thank you sir...I had the Spider's at first but they were pitting/flaking so I got a set of OEM Goliath's PWC'd...love both looks, so hard for me to choose

No...used a micro fiber towel, and be mindful of the sharp edges through the towel (depending on type)...and as others have said, DO NOT be afraid to use a little force...first one took me a loooong time, other 6 were butter!

Re: HOW TO: 2014 Grill ring removal

I plan on doing this and just buying the satin blank rings to replace the trivalent chrome. Then I will probably wrap the rest of the chrome on the GC.

Re: HOW TO: 2014 Grill ring removal

This write up was very helpful, Thanks. I can't believe they want $125+ for one of these rings in black. I just wrapped mine in gloss black vinyl.

Re: HOW TO: 2014 Grill ring removal

Changed mine out today. Did anyone else scratch the paint behind the rings? I scratched mine in a few places. Will this be OK or should I get some touch up paint and hit it? Hope it will be OK as I don't want to take them back off.

It's just plastic so won't rust so if the grill rings hide the damage I wouldn't worry about it.
