Can you snap some quick pics of what they look like installed? Up close on the roof as well if possible.

What parts (specific part number if possible or link) did you use? I'm looking to get some before a trip this coming weekend.

Great thanks! Are they holding up to higher speeds with no whistle? 60+mph

Re: 14' Cross-Bar Discussion

sunroof open I can begin to hear a slight whistle in the 40-50mph range, depending on wind gusts. haven't tested them over that yet.

Re: 14' Cross-Bar Discussion

I have the OEM bars installed (fat end forward, like a wing) with no noise at highway speed. I do have a whistling noise when I mount my bike rack, although the noise decreases when the sunroof is open (the pop-up "fairing" on the sunroof helps somewhat).

Re: 14' Cross-Bar Discussion

ok this is strange. fat side forward and mine are howling so much I can't even keep the moonroof open. mine only sound good with the skinny side facing forward. like this:

Re: 14' Cross-Bar Discussion

I bought a Thule system with the Aeroblades. Some additional noise but not crazy. I'm still debating whether or not I leave the towers and bars on or take them off.

I was thinking of going with Yakima system. Their RailGrab looks really low profile and seems to be easy on and off since I may want to pop it off when we aren't roof topping our big tandem kayak. Have to go with round bars because I need their boat loader pole that extends out side of pipe to help load heavy kayak.
