2014 Overland Billet Silver Exterior Modifications

Basically I'm at a loss, I need to do something to my Overland to make it mine but have come up empty because this thing basically has everything I would put on it anyway. I think I saw someone here put plasti dip glossifier over their chrome which basically turned it to a flat silver. I thought about that but can't find the thread anymore. And it doesn't seem like anyone has blacked out anything on a 14 Overland either. Is this color just not as popular or is it the least exterior modded color?

Re: 14' Overland Billet Silver Exterior Modifications

What does color have to do with modifications? If you like it as is, leave it. If not, start modding away to your taste. Maybe a set of wheels, and painted parts if you don't like chrome. Plasti-dip on a $50K+ vehicle seems silly to me -- and cheapens the look.

Check out this thread. My Billet Silver 2014 GC SRT Build Thread

Yes its an SRT8 but you can make it look pretty similar. He took a sick truck and made it sicker.

Re: 14' Overland Billet Silver Exterior Modifications

I'm saying that I haven't seen many exterior color mods being done to a 14 Overland in Billet Silver, so I can get an idea of what different stuff looks like. I'd like to make mine different than any other stock one out there and was just looking for other people that have done something to their Billets. Sorry if that was hard to understand from my first post. Ill gladly take donations if anyone wants for painted parts. But until then, minor plasti dip mods may be in order if Im not exactly sure I will like what it looks like.

Abarbs, thanks for the link, def some ideas for me now!

Re: 14' Overland Billet Silver Exterior Modifications

What color is your interior? Maybe add some of that to the exterior - pinstripes, wheel lip pinstripes, trim/doorhandle color?

I have a silver Ram 2500. Love it, great color, never looks dirty. I added some subtle blue reflective pinstripes into a body line, and chrome side steps to match the chrome grille and chrome wheels...and I'm good. I may change the factory dark red "Cummins 24V turbo diesel" lettering to reflective red, but that's about it.

(I like the reflective stuff from all the time I spend on motorcycles - visibility is key when you're a target on 2 wheels! I reflective-stripe my bodywork, wheels, and helmet so it vanishes in daylight but pops in headlights at night)

Re: 14' Overland Billet Silver Exterior Modifications

Billet Silver Overland looks great as is. Only thing I can think of would be billet silver mirror caps in place of the chrome. I did this on my black Overland and couldn't be happier, although it probably won't be as a significant looking change on silver.

Re: 2014 Overland Billet Silver Exterior Modifications

Have a 2014 overland and have plasti dipped all chrome with the exception of the tow hooks and looks good. Inexpensive and looks great in my opinion. Tried black and white on door handles. Only downside of the white is that it looks like whiteout without the glossifier.
