That's exactly the way it was with her old BMW. I took it to the dealer and they adjusted it a bit but the drivers side was still lower. They said the same thing, it's aimed like that to not blind on coming traffic. Her new BMW which is full LEDs is not like that. My 2016 HA is not like that either though...
Hmm every vehicle I've ever had with projector headlights has a passenger side light that's aimed higher. It's normal. Commons sense would explain its for the oncoming drivers...
This screw sets the base level. The auto-level adjusts the level using front and rear levels sensors mounted on the chassis. I don't recall if the auto-level was active (engine running) when I adjusted mine.
