And places to buy them at whole sale price and not the beefed up crazy dealer sale price. Model numbers would be nice too.

You want the Taillight Solutions kit, not the OEM Jeep kit. The OEM kit only works in conjunction with the front fog-lights, and is difficult to install.

The Taillight Solutions kit converts the rear "fog/lower reflectors" to work in parallel to the tailights (light/turn signal/stop lamp). And it some in standard bulb or LED. They even have a complete LED swap-out for the rear solution.

A bit more expensive, but the kit is worth it. I am saving my pennies for a kit myself.

Those are way too expensive. I'm gonna look for a cheaper solution.

Re: 2011 2012 grand cherokee rear fog lights kit mopar oem

I have noticed on European vehicles, the rear fog light is only on the left side. Also this has a separate control/switch to turn it on/off. Does the OEM rear fog light work similar to the European vehicles?

The tail light solutions kit just converts the reflectors to lights and make it work with tail/turn signal lights I guess.

If I want a real fog light, personally, I will install a light in the place of the reflector (maybe brighter light on the left side and relatively less brighter on the right side) and control it via a switch. The switch can be placed in one of those empty slots under the climate controls in the dash.

Re: 2011 2012 grand cherokee rear fog lights kit mopar oem

If you are still interested, here are the Mopar instructions for the true European style rear fog light setup. Keep in mind these are NOT the same as the Taillight Solutions rear fog conversion kit, AND I'm not sure you can even get the European parts from a NorthAm dealer.

I have the TS halogen kit and am perfectly happy with it.

I went with the Tailight Solutions Halogen kit and couldn't be happier.

I was SUPER EASY to install (didn't even require ANY tools) and does exactly what I wanted it to.

My time is valuable, so for me the Tailight Solutions kit was worth every penny.

Re: 2011 2012 grand cherokee rear fog lights kit mopar oem

Seriously shameless promotion of a product. Do you work for the company? $290 is too much for a simple mod. Yes my time is as important as yours is, but my money is worth far more then my time. I'd rather spend more time working on something and enjoying it then wasting my money on something that is over priced.

Is this even an American company?

Taillight Solutions is an American company. The owner posts here frequently. Time has nothing to do with it; the issue is preference. As others have mentioned, Taillight Solutions is selling a plug-and-play kit to turn the rear reflectors into repeaters. Mopar is selling a retrofit kit to turn the rear reflectors into fog lights. Taillight Solutions' WK2 rear fog repeater kit is a lot more expensive than their WK SRT8 kit because the WKs already have everything there but the wiring. WK2s just have reflectors which need to be replaced with bulbs and lenses. So, Taillight Solutions is essentially selling you part of the Mopar kit but with different wiring to make the lights work as repeaters instead of rear fogs. You could probably do it slightly cheaper by buying the rear fogs from Mopar, buying the correct wiring and connectors, then figuring out how to wire them as repeaters, but that's pretty much what you're paying Taillight Solutions for. And I guarantee you the price difference wouldn't be as great as you might think.

That's fine. Could be the greatest and simplest product in the world. For what it does and what you get out of it $300 is overpriced for redundant lights to the stock ones. It doesn't add new function to the vehicle just mimics what is already there in a different location. I agree it's a nice to have for $100 or so.

Products like that are over priced across the board. They are normally very simple to do yourself with the right hardware and people should start realizing this.

I'm not saying $300 is a walk in the park (as-evidenced by the fact that I want the kit but don't yet have it myself), but where are you getting the "right hardware"? It's not like you're just throwing a bulb or a wire back there and calling it a day. The functional foglight housings are the biggest cost in the project since you pretty much have to go through Jeep to get them. That's just over $200 no matter which way you slice it. So although $100 may be what you think it's worth, the reality is quite different.
