Re: 2011-2013 Foglight upgrade Option

So even after reading the thread I'm a little confused. Is there an actual plug n play adapter cable we can buy? I really rather not custom make one. Frankly soldering is out of my skill set.

Yes there is.

These guys will sell you the exact adaptor harness you need if you don't/won't/can't solder/splice yourself;

Just grabbed these...
5202 H16 Wire Harness for HID Ballast to Stock Socket for HID Conversion Kit | eBay

I think they are the same ones that are in the 1st post of this thread, and they are on sale for $12 shipped right now.

I think that person chopped their's up for some reason. That's why I'm a little hesitant.

Twist a couple fasteners underneath and one bolt (13mm I think), and you can reach up from below. 8mm (if I remember correctly) to take the old lights out and re-use the OEM screws to fasten the new ones in.

I want to wait until Friday so I can take my time and get good night time comparison pics.

JDebler

Both me and Todd 3.6 ended up diassembling those adapters.

For two reasons

1. The polarity is reversed on one them
2. The 9006 connector at the end doesn't match with the one on the fogs.

Todd 3.6 ended up soldering the 5204 male socket directly to the pigtails. I plan to do the same when mine arrive off back order.

Since you already bought them you can simply cut off the 9006 plug and splice the wires with the JW pigtails just remember to get to polarity by checking the photos I posted in this thread

Re: 2011-2013 Foglight upgrade Option

Any confirmation on whether these will fit the 2014s as well?

They won't. :

The mounting points and overall shape and design are totally different

You can always add an hid kit to your 2014 projectors fogs like others have done

You know, I saw that and it didn't even click with me that I will need to do the same thing.

No big deal. Thanks!

Re: 2011-2013 Foglight upgrade Option

Just a quick update for everyone (and those who are on the fence about buying these lights)...

Wow, what a difference!
I've had the chance to use my lights now in rainy weather and on back country roads (pitch black) and I have to say the improved light output is very nice.

The only comparison I can think of is the OEM lights are equivalent to using a candle compared to these lights.

Directly wired in (with adapter harness) and no issues with the CANBUS system or flickering that some other bulbs might produce.

I even have mine aimed a little too high (almost level) and have not had a single oncoming vehicle flash high beams at me.

Edit:
Can't wait for a good snowstorm this winter!
